Despite the dangers of Australian wildlife, Bateman said he was enjoying life in North Queensland and playing under Payten at the Cowboys.

"Todd is pretty straight down the line like some of the other coaches I've had - Shaun Wane, Wayne Bennett, and Ricky Stuart. He tells you how it is so you know where you stand and I like that," Bateman said.

Mainly his childish digs at the club richo benji thru the socials...and hes still at it in the article above.

Didnt think his heart was in it right from the start.

He seems to rub people up the wrong way as evidenced by him leaving every club hes been at on bad terms and his immature posts

I do agree - but it is a tad harsh to not sympathise with the possible loss of a limb via spider toxin.

AND - how he only left Canberra on bad terms after joining the Cove Agency (Isaac Moses) stable is never front and centre of the Bateman narrative (as it has been with Galvin etc)...

Having witnessed close friends require amputation of finger/toe/limbs for various differing reasons (cancer - blood poisoning - diabetes - irretrievable gangrene) -I would not wish that on anyone!

It's football FFS!
