Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Haha .,I mean I could make a case for all of them …but the Roosters ?

I remember the game last year against them .boys v men

You gotta be trolling me …
Forward packs I think we are better than?

Remembering that I'm disclosing that we lack that intimidation factor, based on ability, I'd probably have our pack ahead of Souths, Parra, Knights, Dragons, Roosters & Sea Eagles.

That's on skills & talent.

But there are players from each club that I would add to our pack. Just as I'm sure they would take a handful of ours.

I think we just have over exhagerated views of our pack. Look at these two packs for eg, including knights who are close to dead last.

Roosters = 8.Whyte , 10.Collins , 11.Crichton , 12.Foketi , 13.Leniu , 14.Wong , 16.Steep , 17.Butcher.

Knights = 8.J.Saifiti 10.Thompson 11.D.Lucas 12.KPP 13.Frizzell 14.Hastings 15.Croker. 16.Crossland 17. Hetherington

I can barely find a spot for a Tiger in any of them. Terrell May makes both, Samuela and Pole get a bench spot for Knights.

Twal/Sukkar/Seyfarth/Sione Fainu/Bird/Hunt don't make either of them.

Don't get me wrong - I absolutely think our coaching needs to improve. But for those saying Benji needs to go - how many sides in the comp do you think we really have a better roster then? I do honestly think our position on the ladder is very close to the strength of our roster.

I also think Benji is our best bet to sign good players, hence why I think he should stick around for at least the first half of next season.
I agree with you despite also having concerns about Benji’s coaching. We’ve never been better in terms of recruiting. May as well keep him for at least into next year.

Roosters are not the the pack they used to be.

For intimidation- they are way better.

But skills? I don't think they are any better overall than we are.
The Roosters pack at full strength would run through us similarly to how Melbourne’s did.
With some of those young bulls coming through that they have, it won’t be long until they push for the title again.

Their youth coming through is very solid

Blake Steep, is one to watch.
He's going to be real good.

Our ones to watch over the years haven't kicked on at all.

The Harry OKane, Brandon Tumeth, Jordan Miller, Brandon Mansfield Webster, Tim Johannsens. No where near the likes of what the Roosters are turning out.

roosters are picked for origin bc they play for the roosters. leniu has the lowest motor in the NRL and Twal is statistically better than him lmao.
Garbage.
Collins is always one of QLDs best forwards.
Crichton was last years Wally Lewis Medal winner.
Leniu usually supplies aggressive strike in attack and defence.
Watson has a lot of experience, can play multiple positions at rep quality and is a great competitor.
Toia outplayed Latrell Mitchell across the 3 game series.

the dragons actually have the best young emerging forwards in the comp
egan, Couchmans x2, Stewart, loko pacifica tonga, halangahu
that pack could be ridiculous in a few years

i meant the forwards, Crichton has fallen out of form a little IMO but toia & Watson earned their spots 100%

Some very interesting posts as I think most of us agree it’s not necessarily any of our forwards who individually let us down, but as a collective we have our balance all wrong with too many passive types of forwards and not enough aggression and impact.
In addition to this I think it’s getting more evident that starting Api is tiring him out, leaving him prone to missing tackles and reducing his ability to be effective in attack.
Ideally we need a hard hitting number 9 for the first 20 minutes and capable of playing another position such as 13 for a possible 2nd stint.
I think many of our forwards definitely let us down individually. I could rattle of a list of problems, most I've commented on in the past, but pretty much all but May have a glaring deficiency on one or either side of the ball.
