Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Exactly. Sign players in a position of need, not just any player who becomes available.
Really don't get the obsession with getting players to change positions. Same goes for Sam Fainu leave hin where he is, he might end up in the middle in about 3 years not now, only played Front for in u19s SOO because he was twice the size of every other forward on the paddock.

I doubt the Titans would release a player such as Beau Fermor for 2026, but just say they did and we could potentially sign him.
What would be wrong with Fermor, Samuela Fainu and KPP all battling it out for our 2 edge back rowers starting spots and potential for whoever misses out to play 13 or start off the bench ?
It's a waste of salary cap space, and none of those players are suited to 13 or will be happy playing off the bench.

It creates a problem without actually solving the issues in the squad.

I answered you. I said yes. It is improvement. Objectively, we have improved. We have more wins and we have been competetive in most games this season. I can name 5 from 18 where we have been totally outclassed on the day.

Melbourne
Manly
Parramatta
Penrith
Brisbane

2024, we were outclassed in most games.

Parra is rumoured to be signing Furmor and now people are saying he should be coach of the year on here. I mean this is hard to listen to when people just throw shit out and have no back up to the point their making.

You say don't getbrid of the players, but you imply they haven't made a difference. If getting new players is not the answer, what are you wanting to see from the club that will make you happy they've done the right thing?
Please winning 1 more game in my eyes is not improving, nor is coming 16th instead of 18th.
Blind Bettty can see we need hard running forwards that has the other teams looking for them, but what do we have Alex 1 and Alex 2, they would not get a start in any other team but are always picked in ours.
And just on new signings is it true we have just signed 2 more halfbacks ???????? why!!, as the games i have attended this year, that is not our weakest spot.
Oh well always next year right.

I would say Makasini is an exception and not the rule. He has the physicality of a 23 year old. I hope we don't play him, or need to play him this year, however I'm pretty sure he would handle it. I would rather keep him as our secret weapon in rd 1 2026.
Love watching Haemasi play great kid, I just hope he isnt rushed and developed well. He has got a lot of growing to do still. In Matts and Ball I have seen other teams mark up on him and he has a heap of improvemnt to go, the kid is a weapon we dont need to rush him and burn him out.

Dogs defensive line speed is super quick, one could say it is to quick to be legal, on the other hand ours is the slowest in the comp by some distance. So we are giving away yardage in every defensive set and we are losing yardage in every attacking set. Seriously, although we have selected probably our best 17 in months, I still think the Dogs will grind us big time.

Love to be wrong
Your right about their speed, I'm hoping they won't be as effective as shitting us down because they're not as big as the Panthers so I'm thinking we may be able to break a few tackles. 🤞

I trust ur opinion do you think fermor is a good addition ? I worry abt titans players they just don’t put the effort in to defend and a lot of inconsistency
Titans have a really good squad, they have on paper great forwards, for some reason they just couldn't get it togeather. Imo they buggered it all up by getting rid of Hollbrook. I think he would have had them in such a better position then where they've been the last 2 or so years.

I would say the clauses are still in there, its not as simple as just removing them, I would guess a new contract would need to be drawn up and perhaps it may have some new terms that were negotiated as part of the removal of the clauses...he is saying he wants to be a Tiger for life....maybe an additional year or two, or more robust performance incentives as the challenge is greater than he may have originally anticipated etc...

yeah mate they are he said they're still there on his pre match media bit, but reckons he won't leave regardless.

Why don’t we just buy a 13 - someone that has shown already they can play there …

Anyone who paid any attention to what this guy's character is knew he wasn't leaving.
I think we're all so used to weak gutted dogs like Brooks , Galvin and Moses that we don't think men of grit and integrity exist anymore.
Not particularly a Brooks fan mate , but calling him “weak gutted “ after he was played out of position for 10 years shows you have no clue

I think Moley is about 2 months in the past. Tyrone re-signed at his club long term about 2 weeks ago.
I'm sure he did re-sign, however for me he might be a good replacement for AD, can play multiple positions, has plenty of experience, connections to the club etc...however saying that why wouldn't we just keep AD?
