The Bulldogs have become the laughing stock of the NRL after their Wolfmother pre-game entertainment turned into a disaster, with the iconic Aussie ban’s act cut short.
As the Dogs ran out onto Accor Stadium on Saturday night, the plan was for the Australian rock band to be blasting their hit song Joker and the Thief.
The iconic anthem has blared before every home game in 2025. But the move for them to play live was a head scratcher already, given the fact that the Round 27 game has zero finals implications and is nothing more than a regular season game.
However, it couldn’t have gone worse, with players and fans left confused about what they were seeing.
As Wolfmother began to play, the Bulldogs entered the field before standing around awkwardly waiting for the song to finish in truly bizarre scenes.

“Stephen (Crichton) has taken them out early. What do they do? Do they keep playing for the first three minutes of play?” Andrew Voss asked in commentary.
“I’m not sure how this works.
“That is quite an unusual … Wolfmother is doing their best.”
In the end the song was cut short as the game needed to get undwerway.

And the NRL world was quick to give it to the Bulldogs for their pre-game disaster.
“They get Wolfmother to do the run on live and Crichton f***s it up,” one fan wrote on X.
“What was the point of Wolfmother – pls explain,” another added.
“WTF was that Wolfmother nonsense before the bulldogs game,” a third commented.
