That’s correct,
I have been a member of Wests Ashfield for over 30 years, so why would I expect them to put some of their members money into funding Balmain junior reps for the good of Wests Tigers if a large portion of Wests Tigers fans do not appreciate it ?
Because they are a non for profit and it's their charter to fund sport, especially Rugby League in their local community.

A review they commissioned found serious governance issues and made a list of recommendations including an independently majority board makeup.

After the majority of these recommendations were implemented the club started to show signs of improvement across a number of indicators for the first time in a decade.

The HBG then decided to reverse all the recommendations and go back to a structure that was found to be poor governance in the initial review.

It is pretty obvious why Wests Tigers fans are taking the action they are.
There is no issue with that, the issue is making no effort to try make them make the necessary changes before wanting to remove them completely.
It appears that is what PVL is doing and instructing, telling them to make the nrcessary changes and reverse the bad decisions they have made and if they do not do that, then the repercussions will happen.
PVL could have quite easily removed them completely, but giving them an opportunity to correct their wrongs seems a much fairer way of doing things before just simply removing them.

Thoughts like that will ruin this club
liked you long time , but that is the dumbest thing on here .
Love the honesty , about time the dinosaurs spoke their truth

Maybe not you, but it’s been said quite often in the media.
Balmain junior reps are a very valued and important part of Wests Tigers pathways, surely you agree with that ?
That being the case the money for them being funded by Wests Ashfield is very important o Wests Tigers.
Based on Fallah’s comments seen on this thread tonight, it sounds like that funding could come under question if a large portion of Wests Tigers fans continue to try and remove them, without trying to understand them and perhaps work with them.
Who do we think will fund the Balmain junior reps if they do remove the funding due to feeling disrespected ?
So their counter to people saying they are running the Wests Tigers poorly would be to further damage the Wests Tigers and prove those people correct?

It would surprise me if they did, but it would be clear proof that the Wests Tigers are not their priority and the actions being taken by fans atm are correct.

Not doing anything worthwhile for Wests Tigers is part of the criticism being directed towards them.
Obviously funding the Balmain junior reps is something very worthwhile and valuable for Wests Tigers as they are an important part of Wests Tigers pathways.

So your argument is that they should remove the funding because they are not “appreciated” by people at a rally…you’re entitled to your opinion of course ..but I think this is not one of your better ones ..

Who is?

I thought I had read that. Or at least assisting in the funding?
Nope, it is a private investment project being developed by PERIFA and their investment partner Mitsubishi Estate Asia.

Part of the requirements for the development is space for a return for Balmain Leagues club. As Balmain Leagues club amalgamated with Wests Ashfield with will be a HBG owned and operated club.

The HBG is not an owner, funder or developer of the project.

We want what was recommended and agreed to in the review.

This is directly of the Wests Magpies website-

Holman Barnes Group Support of current and former Balmain Tigers related operations
In 2020, Holman Barnes Group acquired the operating Assets of the Balmain Leagues Club Ltd.
This includes Tigers Sydney Markets Club (Flemington) and tenancy for a Future Tigers Leagues Club premises at Rozelle.

So not an owner, funder or developer- but they own the operating asset?

Will the name of the new club be the Wests Tigers Leagues club ?

so PVL slapped the wrist again , did he point the angry finger again and shake it about

They help with funding for many local sporting clubs and organisations.
They are not obliged to fund Balmain, but do it for the good of Wests Tigers.
As I’ve said to you before, I don’t blame you or anyone else for wanting the Indekent board members returned and I don’t blame anyone for expressing dissatisfaction,
The dissatisfaction expressed by Wests Tigers fans forced PVL to intervene and forced HBG to reinstate the previously dismissed board members, so the supporters voices were clearly heard,
I heard Darcyvtidsy say Wests Tigers voices are not being heard, the actions as mentioned above prove that statement to be incorrect.

According to HBG governance wasn't followed by Shane and the board hence the breach.

Any why did Barnier speak at the rally?

I thought that was really odd.

No they will be tenants at the sites, they will operate a club on the site that will pull in further pokies money. Calling them the developer and funder of the project is completely false
