Not really mate, I was a fleet footed back like Dinger except I had a pea heart ! One of those flash Harry’s who had a comb in my sock to impress the girls !
But I was born at Waratah in Newcastle and still proud of the area.

Back in 1990, following the Newcastle earthquake, I lived in Mayfield for the year (due to work) and thoroughly enjoyed the people in Newcastle - they were salt-of-the-earth Aussies.
I'll always have a soft spot for them.

He was terrific for us today. His game is far above what it was when he was here last. He obviously listened to Reynolds and learned a lot. He is a handy pick up for us.

Have always felt Jock was just not quite there in any aspect however I take my hat off to him today. He directed the team well, kicked well and made good decisions. If he can play like that at NRL level he’s going to be a handy backup half.

You can tell he’s got the hunger and with that the swagger…if Doueihi doesn’t set the world on fire at 7 I could see madden being the man. Latu at this stage when he’s fit really looks more comfortable as a 6/lock

His kicking game was a big part of what kept us in the game during 1st 40mins. Goal kicking as well is a great bonus. Good back up half but for cup it’s a quality pickup at very least.

Jock played very well. Adam will be looking over his shoulder. Special mention for Charlie Murray, great game. I feel the heavy strapping on his knee is the reason he hasn't yet cracked NRL. Not far off it.

Watched it again and boy he was good. Didn’t look that great in his small role at the Bronx but this preseason must have done wonders for him. Was very Cronk like yesterday. Looks to be a lock for the bench come round 2 with latu out.
