3-2-1 Round 4 vs NZ

Luke L? Are you joking?
No. Go back & watch his game.

I'll put my hand up & say I want Skelton in that position, or Turuva even better.

But, that was Luke L's best performance. The Warriors test wingers & Luke didn't come out second best all night. He put a couple of decent shots in with defence & he blew up one attack by stepping in at the right time in defence too.

That Madden try- Luke set that up perfectly. You can see him pointing to Jock where he wants him. His running from early sets was fierce.

Dude had a game. Him & Mak were strong against a really athletic, intimidating backline.

Agree Chad. He is as gutsy as. Yep has an error in him - all young blokes do - but plays with no fear. Really disappointed that he is on the move.
Mak and him both got into the physicality of the game and did a great job even with the errors. All good teams defend their errors and we did that well last night

It's not the mistake, it's what you do about it that counts.

I don't remember, at any point last night, thinking Luke cost us anything. That hasn't always been the case.

These young guys are starting to become what we hoped.

3 AD - can't go past him
2 Sam Fainu - some critical plays that impacted the game.
1 Tino T - FG debut scored a try helped set up another through competing.
HM - Madden Twal and the rest. Great team performance

That left edge probably should have gone to water in that environment but they both showed they have the right mindset. Rocks and diamonds game from Maka but I reckon he got bucketloads of confidence out of his second half defense. Luke L is raw but plays so tough.

Mak looks a little knocked up after two physical games and might benefit from a game as 18th or 19th man if he’s not 100%.

3 - Madden ( Cleary style wow)
2 - Twal ( form forward of the comp)
1 - Doueihi ( amazing breaks and set up’s )

Honorouable mentions Bula and suruva who made 10m every run when everyone was getting smashed.

Makasini copped a couple of great shots last night.

Unlike the first 2 weeks though, he didn't take it like a rookie. He got up & gave some back.

That's what you want to see from a big unit like him. I'd be pushing him a bit further for a while before thinking about resting him. Let him be angry.

3 Doueihi - key to win
2 Koroisau - steadying hand for an inexperienced side
1 Twal - really solid in attack and defense with some nice skills at times

Plenty of other good games. Both second rowers, Bula, Madden - shaping as an astute signing, among others

3 - AD
2 - Twal
1 - Madden

AD had an odd game. Not heavily involved in a traditional halfback manner but wow when he got involved, chef’s kiss. Almost played like a centre or old school 5/8 at times, carries the ball in both hands, creates enough confusion to get through the line.

Alex Twal is having a superb season so far. Still making a boat load of tackles but also running with aggression and purpose. I think he’ll add to his try account at some point.

Madden did the things that let AD have his roaming brief. Great organisation and busy all night. Team looked a lot more focused with the ball. I was a bit Nonplussed when we signed him again but he’s proven me wrong. I don’t where he fits in long term but he’s a great asset and even if he’s not first choice, we’re going to have injuries and he’s the kind of backup we’ve not had for a long time. Decent goal kicker too.

To my mind, Madden MUST be the 7.
Luai will be the 5/8 [Benji faith-culture].
Doueihi will be the interesting delema. Centre?
But we still have a few weeks with Luai out to have some re-runs and get a clearer picture.
I’ve always seen Doueihi as a running lock, but he’s doing a great job at six so far

Yeah… except for the first two tries.

3 - AD (insane stats 9 line breaks, 2 try assists, 2 line break assists and over 200m - like Benji in his prime).

2 - Twally (47 tackles 0 misses, 120m+ run metres and a line break assist).

1 - KPP (Try, 40+ tackles)

HM - basically everyone! Jock, Api, Roycey, Samuela, Tino, Luke etc
Where did you get 9 line breaks from?

Yeah… except for the first two tries.
First try...sure- he could have helped Mak more.

No other try was scored outside Luke or due to a defensive play from Luke. Tries were scored through Mak/Madden inside him.

2nd try was between Madden & Mak off a forward pass too.
