BTW…that was Melbournes first 50 point touch up since 2003.
None of this group, excluding the coach have experienced it before. Bellamy went 23 years after that before it happened again.
Maybe it will light a fire in them?

Teams will beat them . This level of form is simply unsustainable. But they are killing it and should ride the train as long as possible . I think the bulldogs will take them in a grind . Can’t see them winning though . I can see Newcastle with Ponga back doing it .
This year the Riff have changed up their attack; while they still grind they are also using a lot of second phase plays while maintaining some great line running structure. Cleary and Talangi have targets to hit on the edges and their outside backs in second phase play as well as off structure. Benji has us operating a similar style in both defence and attack - but we are well behind in execution at this early part of the season.

Our chaos is less organised but we are on a similar song sheet so I think we are tracking in the right direction. I don't think we are near Penrith's standard yet - but have they peaked too early? We will have some ups and downs but is the light at the end of the tunnel finally not an oncoming loco?

Their performance tonight had me scrambling for our draw to see when we play them and not feeling good about it.
lol, I’m looking forward to it.
We will be seeking an accurate appraisal of where we sit by the time we play them in Rd 14 and that will be valuable. They will then provide a good hitout for us leading into the finals in round 27.
As I said earlier, we are one the very few sides who always have a good crack at them.
I’m glad we play them at least twice this year.

Round 14 is a long way off anyway, a lot can happen in between.

But when we do play them I hope we are in good form, healthy and up for it.

Nah there is only so many quality players you can lose without it affecting your performance they can't replace them.

Normally I’d agree but that club don’t usually conform to rules like that.
I can’t see them winning the comp at all…but I wouldn’t rule them out simply due to this crazy stat.

I’d understand your argument if this was one of those shitty competitions overseas where the richest teams dominate.
THAT is boring.
This club is on a level playing field with their peers and have had to let go enough good players that you could form a team from them that would likely make the top 4. They aren’t rorting the cap or cheating in any way. They aren’t necessarily protected by the refs either.
They putting in hard work and innovating their play, rather than just copying everyone else.
They deserve this success and criticism of that looks extremely petty.
Reading the comments and thought that would be interesting. This is what I came up with. I think it would be 2nd place to Panthers tbh.

It’s crazy isn’t it? They just keep doing it. It literally does not matter who leaves them
The only thing that makes sense is they have developed some sort of super serum that is undetectable to sampling and testing.
Seriously though…it’s amazing to witness.

Crazy thing is on that list you could count on one hand the ones that spent plenty of time there but didn't actually come through their junior systems.

No one saw anyone beat the GS warriors … and then they did . The league moved tactics changed … and we all moved on . Collingwood recently , Richmond tigers a few years back … west cost eagles early 2000s . The Patriots … the league had to wait until Brady retired after 20 odd years . The storm … for 20 years ..
GC Warriors had Klay and Durant hurt ...

Yea but they never got back to thier dominant heights . I know durant left , a yes thy did eventually win another , I just meant the “no one is winning anything for 10 years “ hyperbole that wa showing around at the time . Guys got injured , form drops , people left … the end . Now the same things are being said about OKC . Who are actually more closer to the panthers , as they’re purely built from thier own players and draft picks … with the SGA trade when he was a promising kid .. nothing more . lol NBA talk .

Terrel May didn't play for Panthers

Been coming for awhile. Still be top 4 but won't get past week 2 unless they get somee forwards back ups
Tonight would have to be the weakest forward pack I have seen Melbourne put on the field for 10 years or more.
Look at Harry Grants game tonight 2runs 10 metres
When was the last time you have seen that ?
Same with Hughes little impact because of no go forward.
Let’s hope they have this same pack when we play them 🤞
