Gould up to his tricks (again)

It’s up to the NRL
It is an obvious conflict of interest and he should be given the opportunity to choose one. A giant masthead or a flea ridden dog.

The NRL are a toothless tiger. They have let certain clubs operate so far outside the rules it’s not funny, yet come down on others for a trivial offence. So don’t expect anyone at HQ ringing Gus the gob over a potential conflict of interest.

Although seriously the question has to be asked , if we are offering top dollar or close to it, why do they want to leave, especially now we have a competitive outfit.

Gus the Hutt needs to be stopped.

He was also speaking today about the Dragons today. For starters how is it appropriate for the head of a NRL club to talk down another club and give them advice on what they should to do. He ended by noting a number quick fix solutions they should avoid, the last of which was “sign a fullback.” It’s incredible he keeps getting away with the obvious conflict of interest his dual roles creates. Wife said he walked past where we were sitting on Sunday. Probably lucky I was in the Gents at the time.

Two words, Isaac Moses. On one hand you have the Mays, the Fainus, AD etc who’d run through a wall for Marshall and seem to love the club. Then there’s Bula who seems to be stuck between the echo chamber of Moses telling him the future is probably elsewhere and deep down wanting to hang around and do something here.

That story gets harder to spin from Issac when we're at the top of the table.

I don’t even think that’s the worst thing he’s said recently. When critiquing the Dragons, he claimed they don’t need to buy a fullback. Convenient when the Dragons have been linked to the same fullback his club have been linked to. It’s disgusting. I’m sure the NRL will enforce another Mickey Mouse rule to combat it though. So we at least have that.

Guys its ultimately up to Jahream. He's clearly a devout Christian, and also seems pretty dedicated to helping out Blackfellas at the Redfern youth centre. He's no fool. He's not going to be swayed by chicanery real or imagined. Gould isn't going to tip the scales.

This infernal contract is hopefully the final instance of a 'Justin Pascoe special'. We have to remember that the 900k option is something that we offered to him and agreed to in an existing contract. Pascoe settled soft on the options in 2023 and we are now once again snookered by his short-termism and idiocy. Was the same with Stefano. "Sign now and we'll deal with the consequences later."

It's a career defining contract decision, we're apparently are looking for a longer, multi-year commitment from Bula instead of the option, but the 900k extra year option is like having 2 queens and a bishop on the chess board, for any agent, let alone Moses. Everyone is entitled to get the best deal they can, Api and Luai probbably held out in exactly the same way. The situation is made even worse in an ironic way because the team is now equal first and the side is on fire. It's like turning up with a knife to a gun fight.

Just shows how poor the nrl are , it’s all to see but nothing gets done , Gould should not call or be at any tigers games he is doing the Galvin again for all to see , he knows it and knows nrl are Pss weak

Firstly lm no fan of Gould and I would never think about defending him ..about anything

However looking at this from Bula’s perspective ,,,,I’m going to go a little against the grain on this one …. Does a grown married man respond to someone glazing him publicly to the point of turning your back on your supposed mentor coach and player mates at the club ?

I personally have a different opinion to most. I don't see how making public positive comments are really any different to making private positive comments. If Bula chooses to leave I don't believe Gould's praise is in any way likely to be the reason.
I'm not going to pretend it's not a conflict of interest for the likes of Gould and Anasta to have their dual roles but I don't think it is hugely influential. There is the argument that publicly praising a player puts Gould/Dogs in a weaker negotiating position as Moses can quote Gould back to himself and say these are how much you value him, now make an offer that reflects that.

Its the romance of public comments tgst makes it different. Some humans get caught up in it

The style of football being played by the team underscores the excellent qualities of Bula, Turuva and young Tavana. The work of the forwards has been outstanding and the ball playing by the halves has been a revelation especially at a time when there is a shortage of quality halves in the NRL. This comes down to Marshall and his coaching team. We can only hope Bula recognises this during negs.

Funny thing is,
Parra were certain they had Galvin before the season started - And Gould had said anything at all.
Even up until the 11th hour - Parra were certain he was headed there when he left the Tigers.

Then the dogs pull a swifty on them and all of a sudden people are looking at comments he made earlier in the Season.

Maybe they had some sway, Maybe not...
If they did, then Galvin is stupider than his haircut suggests.

Luke Vella was a massive influence on galvin and Papa Galvin.
