There has been a whisper about it even before the Luai news broke. I would say it’s on the cards. Like Luai it would not be the end of the earth, 2028 gives a few kids plenty of development time
Thought his old manager has ties with the Chiefs.

I reckon Tito is as good as gone, but he was emerging players like maka and tavana for the wing, fainus no chance of leaving imoIf the May boys go I will be surprised . I can’t see them leaving west Sydney . The Fainus I’m very very confidant we will be ok . Turuva … I dunno . But we have some guns coming through on the wings . Check out Lanyon playing up a year in sg ball this year . Apart of the undefeated u18s wests tigers team . He’s got some real talent .
Gm of footy gone as wellYeah the nrl have cocked this up royally...they will struggle to recruit...its already been tough for them no marquee signing...no help from the nrl...doubts now on Meninga
Turuva would be a huge lossI reckon Tito is as good as gone, but he was emerging players like maka and tavana for the wing, fainus no chance of leaving imo
Based on what bro ?I reckon Tito is as good as gone, but he was emerging players like maka and tavana for the wing, fainus no chance of leaving imo
Club option $900k 2027...then....There has been a whisper about it even before the Luai news broke. I would say it’s on the cards. Like Luai it would not be the end of the earth, 2028 gives a few kids plenty of development time
So what?Turuvas contract ends in 2027 and he’s only on 450k
You can bet your house he will go the Chiefs
He’s part of the change in culture and standardsTuruva would be a huge loss
Tito came for his cousin as much as as luai . And I can’t see Api going anywhere after 28 , but an assistant coach role within the club . I think we are gonna be ok . The real team who’s in for it . The Panthers imo . Has they’ve all got kids now , they’re all soon to be plus 30 , and the idea of the kids growing together would be something appealing . Guys like Bizza I can see for sure going there .If we keep the Mays and Fainus we'll be right. The Fainu's loyalty lies with Benji more than Luai. The May's are both grateful for the opportunity Benji gave them and I'm sure they'll want to stay together going forward.
Tito would be a loss, but we've got Tavana and Makasini for the wings. Luke L loves the club and I'm sure if Benji is still around come 2028 he'd be a good chance of coming back. Tito may also very well stay. PNG isn't for everyone.
For all those worried about our tax money funding this…
A mate of mine returned from a PNG CEO gig last year. A couple of insider stories from him and you would understand that China has had a blank cheque book ready for PNG projects for 10 years.
I now don’t underestimate how close China got with PNG govt. Who knows if PNG would have allowed a Chinese military base but to me the risk and consequences of that out weigh this 10 year investment.
PNG government now accountable to their people like never before. Let China in and riots on the street when NRL pulls out.
It’s good business by our diplomats
I don’t think he is worth $1.2m, but another team appears willing to pay him the same amount, with Jerome paying no tax. Many but you are free to make your own assumptions.
I'm fine with him going just don't pretend it's because we are underpaying him.
Half the forum says he isn't worth 1.2 and another good chunk want Mr 1.2 on the bench.
Yet all of a sudden he is worth 3 X as much ...
Well you tell me which one it is .....
Yep but what worries me is what Riccio said on nrl360. PNG have said to luia, “here’s the chance to build your team.” First on the list will be players he is close to. Coming off contract at the same time is not a coincidence. Not even mad about Luia leaving just hope we can hold onto the rest. We wont be paying stupid money for a 6.
Im not buying that argument. It’s not about being on struggle street. It’s about earning 1.2 plus endorsements in the hand vs approx 600k. It’s a no brainer to me.1.2 mill a year is hardly struggle st in Sydney... He is also guaranteed a lucrative post playing media gig..... People trying to make out he is a poorper living under the poverty line on minum wage .....
Weird hey? I don't really care if he goes. It'd be for 2028 anyway. Not even mad about Luia leaving just hope we can hold onto the rest. We wont be paying stupid money for a 6.
Look that's true.in hindsight it is a good move
problem is he gets in the ears of other players like turuva and says you are on 500k
png offer 800k tax free plus third parties, same with May brothers.
The tax free dollars and friends with luai may entice some players
