Coach Benji 👑

Looks like it’s driven him crazy for real.

Seriously though, I hope he’s ok, and wish him no ill health.
Sounds like it's Parkinsons based on his age and the "immediate future" comment from the club.

That really sucks, feel for him and his family. Hate the Storm but respect Bellamy as one of, if not the best NRL coach ever.

I dont respect Bellamy at all. He was the leader behind changing Rugby League for the worse.

However i wish him all the best with his illness, its horrible. I do extended fasting in the hope of stopping Parkinsons, MS and dementia and cancer. Hopefully he finds great treatment and help

Respect as a fellow human.
But he has orchestrated some terrible tackles on his fellow NRL community culminating in some horrific career ending injuries. Plus he is arguably the biggest cheat in NRL history, well there’s Tandy and Simona; they were small time compared. So I struggle with that kind of great coach respect.
But I know someone who went from top of their field to 24hr care inside of 3 years. It’s not pretty and I don’t wish that on him.

Benji is not a media bum licker, he knows from his playing days as an elite player how vicious the media can be and hence why he gives them nothing now. I would rather have a coach who gives the media nothing and treats them like the vultures they are than a bum licker. Again all the Benji haters will be so full of humble pie when he finishes up here they will never want to eat again.
Wayne Bennett style,💯. Benji is really settling in now

I know Craig from his early days as a kid playing in group 10. Was a great kid back than, I have bumped into a couple times over the years and he is still the same knock about guy. Anyway all I hope it’s not MND, that’s is a terrible disease to get. Anyone who played league in the old days is a real chance of getting early onset dementia considering the amount of concussions that were allowed

It will happen when a team like the roosters dogs or broncos are in direct competition for their players.
So what happens if the natives go mad when there team loses a few games , or they attack the compound, or harass the players wife’s and children , will we see players leaving in droves, there’s a lot of things that can go wrong , god hope it all goes well 🤔😳

I just saw the press conferences. Benji and Luai were both unflappable.

Criticise Benji’s tactics or selections - fair game, but I honestly don’t understand how there are any Benji haters out there, or worse, amongst us.
What he has brought and continues to bring to our club is incomparable.
As a player he literally made the WT brand.
And he brought glory too. Legacy is an understatement.

And now as a head coach, his personality and philosophy attracts star players, which we have had difficulty doing in forever.
He is still learning his trade, but remember that in just a few short years on the job he has already had to manage when his mentor and head coach was pushed out before his eyes and before his apprenticeship was complete, tasked with the rebuild of a perennial wooden spoon team - his future franchise player only to be ripped away in brutal fashion, the public board dramas, the CEO departure, and now the star recruit and captain leaving.

Still he remains as resolute as ever. The way he holds himself in interviews may belie his experience as a coach, but not as someone who has already seen it all.
Just. So. Impressive.

The odds were stacked against him and here he is, building a solid culture despite everything, his stocks and the team clearly trending up.

So proud.
I have to put it out there, was never a hater but was a massive sceptic re his coaching and had a bias against it all because of the way it transpired with Sheens appointing himself and Benji.

He started to change my mind early last year but I was full of doubts again at the end. This year I'm really impressed, it is really hard to change a leadership style with an exisitng group....for him to develop a much tougher seeming view on standards and for the team to accept that shows he is brilliant man manger.

Maybe they can get advice from the Bulldogs with how they deal with it

I dont want anything dangerous to happen, but I dont want the PNG propaganda to gi well at all. In fact, its a disgrace they are getting a team and I hope it fails miserably.

Big test from Benji to see how he manages this game and not let it snowball.

Thought he made some poor calls that didn’t help us at all:
Toa over Herbert
Tavana over Skelton
Seyfarth coming on instead of Latu
