God I miss following a good football team. March and April were an oasis in a desert. It was nice to get my thirst quenched by that but I've been wandering a desert for 15 years and it's not enough. Now our team sucks again and it's sad. Our level of play at the moment is not far from the level of the Dragons.

I thought Jock had a shocker (and I’ve been calling for him to get another opportunity).

Down 20 in 14 mins the game plan goes out the window and Jocks strengths (of game management) become a little obsolete. He didn’t handle the occasion at all.

He played well when we were on the front foot earlier in the year. Be interesting to see what Benji does there.

i thought we looked okay when Latu who is not a hooker played first receiver, inside Jock, give him the halfback roll next week, we have nothing to lose

When you’re missing a third of your run on side…and it’s your best third…a drop in quality is expected.

What shouldn’t be expected, or accepted, is the complete drop in effort, passion and willingness to compete. Losing key players explains mistakes and lack of polish. It does not explain getting flogged every week because blokes aren’t digging in and having a crack.

That’s what I’m annoyed by. When the boys stopped feeling sorry for themselves today and knuckled down, they were arguably the better side….certainly on par. That’s what Benji has to keep working with.

Thats the point. It happened in the opening 15 minutes which shaped the course of the game.

Based on the way Gee refereed that first 15, its incredibly convenient that we didnt get the 1-2 set restarts in our first set. He ignored those, then gave Melbourne the momentum.. that isnt even up for debate, its factual.

everything Melbourne threw at us in that period stuck as well which hurt

I think more it shows that madden plays better with Doubie than Luai. Double is a straight runner which suits madden, Luai is a stop start runner.

Which is why you scratch your head, Latu was looking good just starting to settle and Benji takes him off and we have bloody Madden and Hope out there, work that one out.

Benji has no tactical nous. This is dhowing week after week. Even during our winning games. He just stands there with his f..ken hands in his pockets. Show some emotion and get involved if you are going to stand on the sideline. An arrogant pose.

Tigers just need to stay in touch while they are low on their best troops.

I actually thought this was going to be a tough game- the Bellamy situation, SOO, the Storm having all their spine players back all coupled with the Tigers missing nearly all their main players now- the results have not been a surprise.

As Tucker pointed out- effort shouldn't have dropped, but it did.

We have Manly who were HORRIBLE weeks ago & are still the same side- just in form while a surprising amount of good sides are out of it. Tigers need to go back to hunting in defence. Forget "Benji Ball"- the Tigers won on that attacking defensive style. They don't have to lose that because the stars are out.

We then have the bye. Then players start coming back.

So long as we don't lose anyone else significant over the next week or so- we get through SOO with players coming back, come out the other side & hopefully get a little momentum leading into finals time.
