Meanwhile, there’s a pretty impressive kid running around for the Storm atm. Absolute unit. Anyone know his background?
I just don’t rate him. He’s got a decent step and quick over a short distance but his negatives are a lot bigger. Getting binned capped it off. I can see the effort but he’s just not NRL level. That Gray kid Souths have looks a similar build but 5 times better. Maybe in three years Heath will be better but right now he’s not a top 25 player.

Small, slow and superfluous. At lease opposition players would step around a witches hat, Mason isn't even a speedhump.

yeah I think it’s just his ceiling personally. Although playing him at fb when he isn’t one doesn’t help.
Is he a better half than Madden?

Never been a fan but I don't hate him for it. Just doesn't have any strings in his bow.

Impossible to defend aganst big fowards from close range when you have Madden, Mason and Hope in the line with zero stopping power. The players either side get dragged out of shape as well.

I don’t necessarily want him back ..: but what’s the alternative plan for next season ? They need a utility who can fill in at FB…: are they going to hope some unproven kid at the club will do the job? They don’t appear in a hurry to sign someone externally for next season

Taylan is our best centre
Starford cannot even take the field
Patrick Herbert is a reserve grader
Makasini has a very high ceiling
Tavana has a lot to work on
Turuva is locked in
We need to bring some players in next year

Makasini has looked his best as a winger to date and shoukd be playing there the rest of this season… gives him a bit more space in attack and not as much pressure in defence …
If May is out . Masi will be left centre . I agree with you . He’s simply the best option in bad bunch . These other guys are going so poorly I’d seriously be looking at the Tautua brothers , and some of these centre in lower grades who are actually not just doing a job but dominating in some cases .
Yes, he can rely on the touchline in defence....but then he has the pressure of the high balls

Other than that one game against the Broncos where he had a shocker in that last 15 minutes ..he has been safe under the high ball … it’s also a problem for a lot of the other wing options ..

I think Patrick Herbert is better than a reserve grader. Hits hard, commits to a decision. Correct or incorrect. Miles better than Toa. He isn’t soft what I like most. Justin Olam type.
I thought Luke was … ok yesterday . I thought he adjusted well to 195xm Saab , and just let him catch it , as he’s not very strong upper body wise and nearly every time was incapable of getting his arms free . But it took him a little bit early , and he lost out by trying to compete with Saab .
He was strong out of yardage .
I guess people will focus on his error , but I personally think the team has lost its ability to defend its errors and that’s a huge problem . No matter who.
The million line breaks at the end are because , when we are missing a player we compress the field big time , and decent halfbacks find their edges really well against us . We always seem to go down by a man , when we. Are playing one of the elite halfbacks . lol
