- The amount of teams conceding 50+ points in a game has also more than doubled (in 2025), and this season is on track to break a record.
- All of these stats have been trending upward since the introduction of the rule.

I think they definitely need to address this as the game is no longer balanced.

Wouldnt be surprised if they change it back to miminal 6 agains after origin...you know how they go ...make itbup along the way....

Disagree , madden is a good nsw cup player , his kicking is all down the fullback’s throat, he doesn’t run the ball , and his defence is pathetic, can’t see how u came up with ur , post . Sorry but true

The thing that made us so great in the first few games was physicality and effort. Those things were glaringly absent yesterday.

Notice who's been missing since these things fell off? Said it before & i'll say it again Api is the most important player on this team.

Not a game changer, he’s just a solid half back who will do a job but not much else. In the warriors game though, he kicked them to death - partly because our forwards dominated .. seems like a long time ago now.
 
After the painful exercise of watching my recorded replay
a few things are obvious
Luke Lauliilii and Heath Mason are clueless in defence
.Luke always rushes in 10 m and then dives and misses virtually every time
Doesn't lay a finger on the opposition.
Don't care if he can score the odd try you just can't have a winger with ZERO defensive capability .
Heath Mason did not make one effective tackle enough said he's out of his league .
Benji was always claiming its only EFFORT that's needed
Maybe he's waking up to the fact that its ABILITY that's needed

Yeh I don't see the point in developing Laulilii any further. He's not with us next year and at this time, I'd definitely have Skelton over him.

Mason I can give a little leeway as he isn't first choice, but we definitely need a better back up fullback.

Missing this game
API = touches the ball more than any other player and creates most of our attack.
Twal = Best middle defender in our club with least missed tackles every week.
Bula = Our fastest player by a long shot in a very slow team.

Next man up talk, is true they are filling in a hole, but that’s it they aren’t going to be as good or consistent as those that they replaced.
I’ll keep my judgement on how we are progressing this year until we get most of our best 17 playing together again.
Until then I will support whoever pulls on the Tigers jumper.

missing a skills coach, tackling coach, kicking coach.

I think this last 3-4 games has reinforced the old saying “ you don’t know what you’ve got, until it’s gone “.
API in the centre of the ruck, Bulas silky running, Douehis direct running,
Samuelas strength, Twals toughness.
Plus the confidence they gave to the others around them !!
Madden and Douehi were a combo because Maddens direct style gave Douehi the extra 1/2 yard he needed.
Douehi gave Luai confidence, it was all gelling.
Maybe I’m overstating it but I just think when you lose 3/4 of your spine the teams gotta suffer, big time.
Anyway. I just hope they all come back bigger, brighter and better than ever !!!
