Depending on how our season is looking towards the end of July, mid August....if we are outta the semis race by then maybe its worthwhile bringing their surgeries forward

Seems to me that most teams that play in Vegas in round 1 take a while to find their feet afterwards. Tigers have long been at their best early in the season, where they mount up enough wins to hopefully avoid the spoon.

Oh great now the USA gets to see us smashed by Melbourne as well! Why couldn’t they match us with a more equal quality team so the spectacle is not so one sided and boring. This could be on a par with the Aussie girls flogging of Great Britain a couple of years back.

Personally I dislike everything about the whole Vegas concept and fail to see what we get other than jet lag but I guess it means we don’t have to play the Storm in Melbourne and we don’t get a bye in round one

Interesting that Shaun mentioned that HBG agreed to give the finances to make it work. I hope he continues to get money from them to use for WT. I also have a feeling NRL would have pushed the to do so.

However I also wonder if HBG cheap out on a few things. Gus made a big pr deal that they're taking their entire squad and support staff on the trip.

You're very right theoretically but at the end, the Board Members of HBG, half of them debunture holders are the ones given the task to allocate funds. You can only play the hand that you are dealt and this is the hand that feeds you so you gotta kiss its arse too.
