Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I wouldn't be letting go of Seyfarth.
He seems a good value contract.

Toa should be first to get the tap.
Royce, I don't mind him but if it meant keeping Samuela, it's a no brainer.

Doesn't seem we have any other big dollar players to ask to leave to make the space.

Need some crafty accounting.
Seyfarth is on 500k next season, he and To'a should be let go of regardless. He was re-signed last season when he was a starting backrower.

He's shown he can't offer anything other than 15mins in the middle... Plenty of other players that can offer that for much less.

I like Seyfarth but that figure sounds excessive

It is... He was re-signed early last season when he was thought to be a starting 80min backrower. Was 450k last season going up to 500k this season. All prior to the KPP signing and he was expected to be the long term backrower.
A 500k contract for Seyfarth sounds unrealistic and bizarre.
Even for Wests Tigers fans such as myself who value him as a hard working and loyal bench forward, it’s hard to see any value in him if being paid anymore than 400k as he is not considered as a starting player unless we have 2-3 injuries to our forwards.
In addition to that he does not possess the athleticism required to be a genuine edge back row option and he is best suited as a hard working and reliable substitute middle forward.

He isn't considered a starting player, but he was when he signed that contract. Like i said, it was at the start of last season when he was the right side starting backrower and months before the KPP signing. I was very vocal at the time about the decision to re-sign him and play him on the edge given his terrible lateral movement, poor defensive reads and lack of discipline.

He is a player who we should have let go when he had the chance (warriors a couple years ago). If your best trait across your 6+ year career is that "he tries hard though" then you should be in Cup or Super league, not the NRL. Which is probably why he's been given the tap on the shoulder... It's not even about Alex or his ability, it's about being smart with out roster and the money and what we are paying him and To'a could be much better spent in improving the squad.
