I feel for anyone who has a gambling problem, it can strike anyone no matter who they are and like any addiction it controls your life and destroys everything around you. My grandfather lost the family house in Bellevue Hill on one bet many years ago.

Anyway in saying the above how can any organisation that has heavy links to the gambling industry have a referee with a well known gambling problem. This is absolutely astounding the NRL has put this under the carpet.Every call that Klein has made is now under scrutiny. Of course the NRL can say what they like but there is now a massive cloud of doubt.

I don't think he would be corrupt and would go i.to any game with professionalism but having that gambling/depression in the background would effect some aspects of your refereeing for sure. A player coming up to you and carrying on and he would more likely get annoyed and go against him. I would in his place.

I have to question though why this came out at this instance? Seems suss.

I'd say it came out because of the result of origin 1.
He should be stood down immediately.

Yeah, he's rooted now. I doubt he's there on Wednesday . Fans already thought he was a cheat without this information

See this is now the problem, his credibility is shot to ribbons and every decision he makes will be given “ connotations “ by the viewing public.
I think retirement will end up his only viable option.
