Should the majority of KOE and Flegg games be played before the NRL match?

Im sick of going to the footy and only watching one match.

Part of following a CLUB is to be able to watch the juniors play and come through the system.

The priority should be playing all KOE and Flegg games before the NRL where possible. Lidcombe should be a back up - not the priority.

If I was in charge of our games I'd have Flegg always on before first grade.
If FG was on a Friday or Saturday I would want koe on Sunday so the bench players who didn't get a run could have game time.
But if FG is on Sunday then koe same day

I remember before I had kids, I knew every player in the president Cup and reserve grade team from getting to games early. I loved watching youngster play and see who I thought would come through. Its wrong in every way these games arent played. The players miss out, the fans miss out, and the families miss out.

What makes it worse is that the koe and flegg games are often played on the same day anyway less than 10km away.

I am yet to be given a legitimate reason as to why.

It would have been nice to see andrews and haywood playing before nrl yesterday. Also gives those boys a taste of what's to come by sitting in the dugout watching the nrl boys run around

I miss the old days,
NSW cup then 20s before first grade.

Sometimes the cup game is before the first grade.
Ideally, it'd happen every week.

Maybe even load up the women's game before hand.
My kids grew up going to watch the Tigers every week as well as lower grades. It was a great day for the family. They had their autograph books and pestered players as they entered near the hill. They became entrenched Tiger supporters. Lots of value in those days. They are in their 50's now and still Tiger supporters.

I always enjoy seeing the lower grades.

Reserve grade at Cambo before NRL this week, let’s see how many people arrive early to watch this.

Based on the last few times I have went early assume not too many others will be there at the start of Reserves.

Seriously the NRL themselves are missing a trick here. As the game grows and media companies have an insatiable thirst for content you basically have multiple competitions that you could look to market and build viewers and revenue from. We should shift into a comp were at the very least Cup aligns with the NRL teams as a national comp and yes, the games are played as a curtain raiser to the main game. I'm sure there are enough fans that would tune in, you could also pay these guys a bit more to keep them in the game till they become first graders, esp with the additional teams and the thinning out of the quality.
This will make the NRL a day out for families, more entertainment, more merch, more food and Beverage sold, more advertising on tv. Build the profiles of the kids coming through and market the hell out of it for a few years till it takes hold. American college sport is huge, and i know we are talking about different population numbers, however surely we could get at least KOE going.
