Honestly the club should bin ctown, we don’t make much money there and we can’t win a game there, I’d go for an 9-3 split of commbank and Leichhardt, everyone who’s been to the commbank games says the atmosphere is good and we make way more money there
 
I’m surprised people are so upset by the game today. I thought we had a real dig. The biggest factor in the loss was clearly losing Madden and Herbert in the first half. It completely screwed our bench rotation with 2 of the 4 reserves needing to be backs (normally none would be backs). However, something nobody has commented on is if Gilbert was penalised for the hit on Madden that caused his HIA we would have been able to use a fifth reserve when Madden was ruled out (due to foul play). That not being the case, fatigue was always going to get us and it did. Fatigue is responsible for some of the late errors, no doubt. API’s pass to Lanyon that Lanyon dropped was a poor pass. API was gassed, he’d played so well. Dolphins scored off the next set and the game was gone.

Overall the stats were very even but we made 13 errors to their 10. Those 3 additional errors were crucial in the context of the game.

We are still 7-7. I can’t remember the last time we were 14 games in and didn’t have a losing record. Probably 2011? We are doing well all things considered.

If we can win 6 of our last 10 we should make the top 8. We have the dragons twice, the dogs, parra, and Penrith in the final round when they will likely rest their whole team. If we can win those five (not a guarantee) and jag one of the remaining five (knights, warriors, raiders, roosters, cowboys) we should be in business. Players back would help.

Regardless of how you feel towards that guy on here, you can’t deny 3 from 15 is very poor mate. If we’re committing 7 or 8 games from 2029 there and still can’t win, the club will struggle having to rely on winning our LO games and away games just to even have a chance of making the 8.

High unemployment v Sydney average, high crime rates, indicative of reduced disposable income meaning money to attend footy games maybe not readily available.
WT may need to try a special entry ticket to see if that makes a difference . $15 per adult or family 2 adult 2 kids $30. Perhaps Saturday daytime not the best, better on Friday or Saturday night ( late games).

I reckon we could get Newcastle next week, played pretty poor against the dragons

Ever since Wests MacArthur sold them their ownership and Balmain going broke forcing them to sell 40% to stay afloat, I think all their mainly concerned with is keeping their games at Lidcombe, and remaining as Magpies in the cup side. I do think they need to do more on their end, but I highly doubt they will.

I’m a die hard Magpie and been a member for years. Ever since Wests Ashfield was created we have never seen success. Do I exclude 2005?

The MC probably has more to do with it? Was there a better MC before Wests Ashfield was created?

Can you tell us about all the Magpie success prior to Wests Ashfield?

I can’t comment on the MC in the 1950s but the Magpies did win 4 comps from 1930-1952 despite their area being constantly carved up
