We will regret it because we should of won. Is that not the point I am making? The difference between making finals and not is winning those kinds of games.

Sorry you miss my point. No actually the difference between playing finals footy, or not, is the floggings, not the close ones.

You are going to lose close ones. Every close match is "there to be won". Some of those losses will be brutally close and disappointing. Most teams will win about half their close ones.

For example you can say "oh we should have beat the Knights there" but you then overlook the fact we did sneak home against both Parra and the Bulldogs. We also lost close ones to Souths and Broncos. It's gonna hover around 50/50.

But actually it's the hammerings that make the difference between finals or not. One cannot just wipe those aside because the score was never close. Teams that get hammered a lot don't play finals footy, or are non-competitive if they sneak in.

Perversely, the Tigers would actually be better off if every week was like last week's Newcastle game, tight and ugly. We'd be fairly confident of playing in the finals if we were that close every week. Esp because as bad as Newcastle played, they are actually a fairly handy side this year.

Footy forums are pretty emotionally charged places at the best of times, let alone when the team is struggling. Probably not the place for you if you are that sensitive towards negative opinions.

I've been incredibly critical of him, but his defence today was superb. He really battles in attack when AD is halfback. He needs a 7 that is one and 2 plays ahead setting things up to use Jerome's strengths. This is a huge issue at the club. AD's influence on the team demands he stay at either 6 or 7. Luai as captain and marquee demands he stays in the halves to. Yet both play better with either Latu or Jock beside them.

This debacle will continue next year of Luai stays. At best we might scrape into the 8 if we have a great run with injuries. For us to be top 4 team we need Latu to partner Adam Doueihi. Hear Javon talk about how easy it is to play with Latu inside him? Thats what Latu does, he makes life easy for his other half. Doueihi will have a field day partnering Latu.

A huge call needs to be made by Benji, Jerome and the club, otherwise we fail again next yeat
