Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Do you remember the night time Broncos game when Darren Lockyer and Tonie Carroll attacked him at centre for most of the night Sheena finally moved Bronson Harrison to defend against them but it was something like 5 try's scored running at Lawrence
Yep. He looked like he had no footy IQ in defence.

Most players don’t debut at such a young age at other clubs, so they give the illusion of walking in and belonging in first grade.

IMO this is why Tavana has looked okay since his debut despite not being particularly strong or fast. He’s 22 this year and 3 years older than Makasini.

I hear you on some of the various side points around development and guidance, but I'll make a simple comparison and people can decide where they sit.

At the same age of 18, is Makasini on par with where Joseph Suaalii was?

To me, one was good enough at 18 (I think Suaalii was 17 and had been playing in the first XV since 14 years old!) and one needs more development.
I hear you…
I’m not even sure he should be playing cup.

If he wasn’t getting paid a motza,
he probably wouldn’t be.

I don’t know if we have him there because he deserves it - or if we’re trying to make him a poster boy for the pathways at the club in hope we can keep a few more in the future…

He only got ‘better’ just before he got injured for mine…
Even in late 2009 he was ordinary, got better in 2010 and then was shot in 2011.

I think you're onto something there

Speed is not the right description for what he had

He represented NSW in track and I think he ran 100 200 and 400 from memory all from St Greg's Campbelltown

From a standing start he went from zero to top speed in a blink of an eye

His defence was terrible at the beginning but he fixed it

Just an outright champion

And just so tough and I can not remember any foul play at all
That first match when he burned Shaun Berrigan, then repeated it with those long range tries his second season.

If not for injury and impact to his speed, I reckon he was destined to be the Blues centre for many years.
