LIVE GAME Round 19 versus Warriors

Live Game Discussion
Another season cooked & the 15th year without finals
😭
Hang in there folks it might take another 15 years but we'll get there eventually
🤣

I went and rewatched the rd 4 game yesterday before heading to Ctown. I'd argue that win had more to do with getting the warriors at a good time than us being brilliant. The same issues we've had all year (shit red zone attack, etc) were all present in that game too. We were just lucky that the warriors were going through the Metcalf thing that clearly unsettled them for a couple of weeks. In the rd 4 game, they were actually physically dominant for the majority of that game and their pack actually outran ours that night.

We won because of long-range tries that went down the Metcalf edge all game. If the warriors didn't parachute Metcalf into their squad for that game and kept going with Harris-Tavita, that game probably ends up like the score we had last night. There is a reason why we've only beaten the warriors once in 6 years. We have always struggled to handle their physicality and power up front.
All our early wins were somewhat conditional
They were by no means ever the finished package...the Knights at Cambo were terrible.
There was always so much more to improve on but i was hopeful that would.naturally occur

It hasnt

We need to take the ref out of it because he didn't lose us this game. In fact we won the penalty/infringement counts 12-6. We were just outplayed by a better team. Warriors really only played 20 good minutes in this game and they still flogged us. Their errors brought us back into it in that 2nd quarter but once the warriors sorted their discipline out, we were never getting back into it. They just have too much size, power and speed for us to handle.

More generally I actually don't think that performance, as bad as it was, was really that much worse than what we dished up at Kogarah or Newcastle. We were just facing a much stronger team tonight than we have in those previous games. We go back down a class in opponents next week. As bad as we are atm, dogs really aren't that much better than us.
I don’t disagree how bad we played but any team that is given x3 long breaks within a 9 minute period when the opposition has got them on the back foot is a contributing factor as to how they regrouped. Referee didn’t cost us but he also hindered us in that period.

Had a totally different feeling watching last night (although ill admit pretty half arsed as its that time of the year). Thought the warriors can push Penrith
The Warriors always fade into oblivion at the back end of a season, though it’s usually much earlier than this. I still think they are going ok, if not great. Newcastle, however, might be waning a bit. If not for a couple dodgy ref calls they would’ve been the second team beaten by Saints a few weeks ago, not us.

Campbelltown...

4 wins from the last 21 there I think it is... Its not like they get 10 games there a year they play, they played 4...

Through the TV I heard more warriors than tigers chants..

On cold wet nights leichardt is still basically being sold out... And we win there.

We even have a better record at CommBank..

Something needs to change

You paid up for Vegas?
Campbelltown is a failure regardless of this pissing contest you're trying to have about who the best fan is.

I'm happy to just say you are the better fan. Well done. Do you feel good now? Do you feel like you've won something? Has it changed the crowds at Camobelltown? Our results at Campbelltown?

They should be able to win wherever they play

I'm a little surpised by all the angst, what where people expecting?

No doubt we make some really dumb errors which put us on the back foot straight away. And we make some important errors throughout the game but I'm going to be positive, I thought there was an effort tonight at least.

Watching it live, it seemed thet Tigers did very well to claw back after twenty minutes and seem to dominate the game for the back half of the game.

Our forwards, espcially our middle, defensively seem to be able to handle their pack pretty well, Pole was awesome and along with Sam F and Haywood, things look good for next year. Second half not so much, errors make it hard.

Our attck is very average, its obvious we struggle to create numbers like other teams, who knows why? Is it the 5/8? Our edges need work?

And Bula should be used more or more wisely, you can see his speed allows him to poke his head through sometimes.

And Latu looked strong with some carries

Be careful mate. Apparently it's "getting old" to talk about it yet we can have pages and pages of threads about Luai complaints and Benji complaints.

Not even the die hards have piled in to defend the place. Campbelltown is indefensible.
To be clear... It is not a Balmain vs Wests thing

The issue with Wests is with Wests Ashfield... Nothing to do with Wests McArthur..

They need to invest in the area.. but maybe they need to only play 2 games a year there to create the demand so that they don't take it for granted and turn up.

You get at least 15k ppl if that was at leichardt last night.

Still can't believe the warriors chant was louder than the tigers.

I couldn’t care less what you have to say about me. You said you go to every game so I thought id ask the question. You want to continually question the Campbelltown fans passion and love for the club, so I just gave you one example of someone who loves the club. It shouldn’t be a competition between fans. We are a failure of a club which is hard to admit that when you are passionate about it. Our results are garbage and I don’t see that changing much regardless of where we play.
Enjoy sitting in your ivory tower today, maybe get outside for a bit

i think the press conference goes ahead on monday

benji mentioned it last night
this has all been released by jarome and his team
its all

it was quite amicable i believe where it has soured is that parra didnt want to carry the one million $ tag and were hoping tigers would bend , discussions happening for well over a week

club only will contribute 200k, if a deal cant be done, jarome could find himself on the bench /cup (this was the club stance)

jarome is trying to push the agenda and force us to pay more

So how come we have won 8 games at leichardt the last 3 years with only 3 losses? Where as it's 4/21 at Campbelltown?

You can't put it down to luck.. 4/21 is damning.
