Nostalgia

Beautiful Jon English. I think he is the only celebrity I actually cried for when I heard of his passing. I loved him from Against the Wind to The Pirates of Penzance, to Altogether Now, and of course all his music. Sadly, I'm a few years to young to have seen him in Jesus Christ Superstar.
He was great SQ.

We should adopt her song “ Holding out for a Hero” as our go to song.
But where to find one ?
Rip Bonnie and thank you for the music.

Pixie's husband ......

Christopher Skase was the kind of 80s businessman Australia used to produce before everyone realised maybe letting blokes borrow like kings and buy half the country wasn’t a bulletproof economic strategy.

He built Qintex into a massive empire with resorts, TV assets and a lifestyle that screamed “definitely sustainable”.
Then it all went bang. By the end, his debts were reported in the hundreds of millions personally, with the wider collapse tied to nearly $2 billion in corporate debt.

Then instead of coming home to face the music, Skase ended up in Majorca, Spain, claiming he was too sick to travel. Australia spent years trying to extradite him while he lived in a mansion overseas, which is a pretty solid upgrade from how Centrelink treats you if you miss one form.

There was even a public campaign joking about kidnapping him back to Australia. That is how much of a national villain he became.
In the end, Skase died in Spain in 2001 before Australia ever got him back.
