No, the final standings of the FIFA World Cup 2026 do not automatically become the new world rankings.
While the tournament heavily impacts a team's global standing, the two systems are calculated using entirely different methods.

How the Two Systems Differ

• World Cup Final Standings: This is a direct, localized tournament tracker. After the tournament finishes, FIFA issues an official Final Tournament Standings report. It ranks all 48 teams based strictly on how far they advanced (e.g., champion, runner-up), followed by group stage points and goal differences for teams knocked out in the same round.
• FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings: This is an ongoing rating system that calculates points match-by-match. A team's ranking represents a rolling multi-year record of all official matches, not just a single summer tournament.

I see EPL begins.soon...might need to find another team to support as suggested elsewhere...used to like Blackburn before only cause i knew a girl once with that surname...dont think theyre involded now

Do you do a tipping comp for the EPL?

Champion @innsaneink, in past years going back to when Geo was leading the way, we've had Fantasy Premier League and there's a core number here who play this game. It's addictive in the sense you don't just follow one team - you have to be aware of the players throughout the comp to get the most points etc.

Now, you come up with a Tipping Comp scenario.

Guess that puts the cat amongst the pigeons and I'll look into that to maybe get an EPL tipping comp going here too.
