Adam Doueihi #227

It was expected that AD would be out due to suspension. He was named at 22 whilst he fought the charge at the judiciary.

He was cleared and expected to be slotted into the 7.

Benji had already named Javon in the 7 and he trained there all week. Benji obviously wanted to give him debut, so told AD he would play lock.

AD didn’t want to play lock.

Reading between the lines he has chosen to sit this week out, rather than play lock. Javon will have his debut and AD will return next week.

imagine how Javon is feeling!!
No only are our senior players dumb on field, they’re dumb in real life.

I said it the other day - Javon wasn’t named at 7 to not play 7 this week,
Adam needed to read between the lines a little…
Keary said the same thing last night, you don’t name a kid to debut at 7
- if he’s not debuting at 7…
You name him on the bench or some such!!

Isaac Moses has already played the mental health card twice with Mitch Moses and Galvin. Three times would be too much of a cliché, so now it's just straight up rebellion. People are guessing that Douehie will go to Dogs or Bears.
I highly doubt the dogs look at him given his theatrics.. for everything galvin did, he didnt refuse to play.. infact he went and played a KOE game with a smile on his face. From all accounts, AD did laps of concord like an unstable madman

For all we hear about how players want to play for him, he sure has a long list of players walking out. I get what AD did was a dick move, but you wonder how a more accomplished coach would have handled it. And I’m not even going to go the cliche of Bellamy or Bennett. Even Fitzgibbon. Mid level coaches don’t go through all of this drama. It’s bottom of the barrel stuff. Shows how little your players respect you.
Other coaches don't deal with sort of shit because the self entitled are weeded out, or are that good that they deal with the issues behind closed doors. You only have to look over the fence to Souths and see what happens when you let double standards into the system.

Kimmorley admitted that he wasn't strong enough as a coach at the time to sit AD out in reggies and that he was blackmailed into letting him get his way; this was a clear indicator of a player you want to be moving on.

I called it way back, the best postion for AD in the Wests Tigers was on another teams roster. I was shouted down as being an AD hater. This was untrue at the time and it is now. My stance then, and now, was based on his character not his footballing ability. He espoused leadership then and blackmailed the coach; now he has walked out on his team mates in the time of greatest need. This again goes to his character.

He is contracted to us and needs very clear guidance on what he needs to do to get himself back into FG. If he is as good as he thinks he is he can make potentially ge tover this. If I was responsible for the roster though he would be free to leave with the clubs blessing if he gets an offer (no freight).

He isn't on that much coin so would be great as a backup in Ressies for depth where he can be managed within the contractual arrangements until he next breaches; then we can kick him to the curb for breach of contract and keep the $ in the cap.

People of weak character do not belong in team sports!

Good call.

I think the point is that we seem to have a lot of them.

Are we hiring people of weak character, turning them into one or is it more a case of beggars can't be choosers?

What changes do we need to make so this doesn't happen again? What can Benji learn from this? What can the Club learn from this?

It's fine to keep blaming individuals when they leave or are about to leave, but that's useless. You still need to do an internal review to understand what we could have done better.

Yeah just watched Noddy on Sen talking about his experience with AD.....it does explain a few things about team selections, this year in particular.

Surely the rest of the players knew about this behaviour? It can't do team harmony much good.
This is pretty much backed up by comments made by Adel Hage who would have been here and around the playing group for 4 or 5 years.

Some people were shocked when he stated that he would let Adam Doueihi go because of his poor attitude.

It goes back to before Benji though. The writing was on the wall under Sheens. @pawsandclaws1 may know about his junior history but character is not norally something that changes. It certainly can be done; but AD has been exhibiting this false leadership/poor character trait for a while.

This really is one of those things that the club needs to do a deep dive on over the off season so they can learn from it. However, one lesson is pretty clear even from outside of the four walls: it should have been dealt with by Kimmorley and Sheens when it first raised its ugly head. Those that were calling for him to go then were on the $.

I think other coaches also don’t deal with it because they’re not out there trying to put gooseys on everyone and calling them all Cuzzy, Bro or ELo
