LIVE GAME Round 21 v Raiders

Live Game Discussion
A few of us asked the question last week, out of Luai & Javon who plays right side. I think we all agreed the experienced Luai would go to right side & the debutant would go to his natural left side surrounded by experienced players to help him through what we all knew what would be a tough 80 minutes. That right edge was completely new from last week & only 2 (Roberts & Andrews) deserved their spot. I am sorry Tavana fans but he offers nothing. His last game of Nrl against Panthers should’ve been his last game Nrl. Can anyone here tell me how Herbert earnt his spot in fact I ask the same regarding brain dead Bunty. I honestly must’ve brushed over the team list during the week because when it popped up prior to the game I told my wife this will get ugly. Then we have Mr “If Benji goes I go”, I am starting to agree with those who believe he simply has no impact physically only impacts his stats. Bula’s form has fallen off a cliff & Romey oh my goodness I don’t know what to say without getting banned because only certain words can describe what I thought of his performance, & I only got to watch the first half. You know the worst bit? Like the rest of you on here I am rusted on, I couldn’t change my team because I just don’t know how to give up or switch off supporting this team. Nothing worse than going into games knowing it’s not just gonna be a loss but be a hiding. It’s so bad now that on Friday afternoon I look forward to Monday morning lol ok maybe not that bad.

I think that was the straw that broke the camels back for me yesterday. It's not that I'm upset with our team as I've always bounced back after a woeful loss, but the NRL officating in general!
There is absolutely no consistency in officating week to week, all games not just Tigers. The NRL is making it extremely difficult to support this year.

It’s a mine thing , but it’s also about getting players to tackle in a certain way , and we see that with our team , we have players arm grabbing. Are players are not working together, some go forward and others don’t, if u watch replays we always get caught out wide , that come from players not working together and it can come from the fullback who should be telling players were to move too.
But overall it’s easier to do with players on the field and it takes time to what u want them to do , that’s what they should be doing this in pre season , it’s hard to put in words , but if u really want to see how it all works, just go to ur local a grade team and u will get a better idea

Thanks mate

A Tiger's friend the other day told me he's going to support the Bears if AD doesn't end up there he's been on the Tigers since 2000 and before that a West man said he's had enough

Bula has dropped off because of Luai Bula is all emotional it's like breaking up with your first girlfriend

Remember high school your first love going out then out of the blue she dumps you for another guy the school captain and all around school you see her and him and it cuts deep

You need the summer break for a reset and maybe just maybe a new girl but the pain is there it's cutting deep

If I turned up at work & performed how our blokes are the Builders wouldn’t have me back onsite. I think Twal needs to slap a few of them around

16th looks likely, saved by Saints' bad start from more wooden tableware.
I'll say it now, St.George have been on an upward trajectory for a while now, they'll go well next year and pretty sure they'll give the top 8 a red hot crack.

Have not been able to understand the people that have been criticizing them in recent times, they are a team on the up as opposed to our shitty rabble, who without a doubt are the worst team in the comp and are the ones that are truly deserving of the spoon.

mad as hell #2.jpeg

I don't really give a shit if we don't score a single point every week, however to leak points so easily all the time it comes down to coaching, assistants, leadership, attitude, culture, love, hate desire, motivation, respect, courtesy and most of all pride, I'm sad to say my friends we don't have any of that.
Didn't Benji say a while back that we are concentrating on defence and the attack comes later, or words to that effect.

It's really turned to 💩 since then.

I was at the game and then hung around to watch the reserve grade put in a reasonable first half performance and then fall in a heap. I'm not going to comment on the NRL game, as it is pretty well documented by all here.

There area couple of points regarding the team and our fan base though. There were some elements hurling abuse at the team and individuals which I thought was pretty poor; however, the number of fans who stayed after the game to chat with the players far exceeded the Canberra fans. SM and the team did engage with fans after the game and appeared to be pretty genuine. Herbert was runningback when he spotted a yong family out of the corner of his eye. He hesitated, and you could see in his step and mannerisms that he was about to run off out of the cold into the sheds, then turned and came back to sign some jumpers and have a quick chat. I thought that was a good effort given the flogging they had endured.

None of the FG, except for Javon Andrews and Ethan Roberts stayed around to watch the Reserve Grade go around. I expected Benji to hang around andwould have thought that the FG would be there in support. Dissapointing. I had a chat to Javon, hewas dissapointed and siad everyone in the sheds was hurting. He got through the game OK, but said it was difficult out there due to the speed and strength in FG. He seems like a pretty good kid and was pretty level headed and laid back. I got a good feel about him. He said he is definitely sticking with the Tigers. We'll see.

Jeral didn't have a great game in Ressies, dropped a couple of bombs. Maka had a few good touches but was not outstanding. Star injured his ankle mid second half and was replaced, did not shine though. Overall the standard of footy form our gus dropped right off towards the backend of the game and chasing the scoreboard led to compounding errors. Oh yeah, Mason had a shocker at the back, dropping bimbs and letting balls bounce - U12 level errors.

Anyway, I have still not seen us win a game in Canberra. Expensive afternoon out for no return!

I know we got hammered , but man when the game was on a knives edge we got some atrocious calls . After we lost our challenge there was 3 others that were bullshit as well .
The boys are lacking confidence , and geez it would hard to feel like the world is against you with some of those ref decisions. The Weekes first half try was dogshit , not only did the centre knock it on , but when he made the break thier big red was standing on the way of May making the tackle . Bula bombing those 2 tries 2nd half and it’s a different game .
We need a new forwards coach . Sorry heighno . We need 3 brand new assistants . They’re just not working .
Also finally the way our byes were spread out this year was dogshit . 1 in the first round 1 in the 2nd last . No wonder the boys are tired.
when it was munched round 1 it should have been a round 9-10 then another in round 18-20 . That would have been the fairest way . Nope . We get hammered .
But then on the other hand, who in their right mind risks blowing a challenge on a ball security issue where Junior Tupou is involved, admittedly on this occasion I think Junior was a bit unlucky.

This, especially fairly early in a game where being the Wests Tigers you know there are going to be lots of much more contentious issues going to arise that would be much more worthy of a challenge.

Sorry don’t agree, Luai’s form has been horrible, he is the one that needed to go to the bench. Doubie has also been poor in form but is here next year. To be real we ain’t going to have Latu and Andrew’s in the halves starting next season. We need some experience there. Also picking players like ‘hand like feet’ and continually picking sione in the second row is all Benji. The ego I am talking about is his inability to have an experienced coach as an assistant. It reaks of ego, like he can’t take constructive criticism from someone with more knowledge. Typical narcissist behaviour. Surrounding himself with yes men is a classic sign.
It’s bunji’s team he had signed most of these players on overpriced contracts. So now we can’t afford depth, again whose fault is that.
Cldnt have said it better myself
Another rebuild coming..again
Coach and his staff were absolutely ridiculous appointments fron day one
And those with Benji clauses will only leave if they wanna go to New Guinea..cause no other team will pay them those crazy $$ locally
Pity the new CEO walking into this...

Andrews 0 line breaks 0 try assists very few meters and many missed tackles
He's not ready yet for 1st grade
Also our middle forwards were dreadful
Canberra made many breaks right up the middle
Common mate, what did you really expect after just another drama leading up to the game, did you really expect him to brain it, do you not think he would have come into the game feeling like shit after the drama happening around him.

What should have been one of the highlights if his career, making his NRL debut and jersey presentation ruin by a self centred shit head.

I'll say one thing, he had a go and he actually passed the ball, something Poueihi failed to do.

Let's be realistic, the combination Javon has started to develop has been with Latu who is currently unavailable and if Benji really sees this pairing as our future then he should play them together whether that be in reserve grade or in the NRL.

I have no problem with that being in the NRL as I see we have nothing much to lose as I cannot see us winning another game for the rest of the season anyway.

You also stated all the breaks up the middle, people are always banging on about halves not having a chance unless their middles are dominating, give the kid a break, he could not have made his debut under worse circumstances.

First time in decades I turned off at half time.
The officiating was a totally biased disgrace, but not as much so as the pathetic lack of intesity , passion and commitment from most of the players
And our $1.2 mill man 's propensity to kick on early tackles..throw unctachable passes etc..total embarrassment
Unwatchable
..and Id sever the umbilical with Luai today....heartless effort

The point is, he isn’t ready and needs to be managed properly. Same with the young hooker.
We have seen the club stuff up similar opportunities before and don’t want it repeated with this current crop.
