The argument for fully embracing the Macarthur as home for the Wests Tigers.

Richo did a magnificent job of getting funding for both of our home grounds, hopefully we have four or so blockbusters at LO for the next 10 years from 2028.

Next mission should be to turn Campbo into a fortress with a bit of atmosphere. The noise in that place just evaporates.
Agree mate. Hopefully the renovations help with some of that open space between stands

@weststigers You need to accept that our future lies in the South-West. It's why we will be playing the majority of home games there once both grounds are renovated. A couple of games there a eyar was never enough from ther Macarthur region to feel the Wests Tigers are their club. We should have moved out there full time years ago. As previously mentioned by others, the whole box and dice. COE, training included. the area has been neglected far too long which is on us.

Finally, maybe be a little more respectful of that the trashy Magpie you speak of. He's the one that gives you a team to support. Hope to see you out at Cambo mate.
I don't need to respect an organisation that slowly destroys this club year after year.

This is not the Wests Tigers I started supporting. It's just the Western Suburbs Magpies in a Tigers jersey.

What about if Cambo became our main owners and started pumping in the funds that Ashfield does (maybe more) and gave us the proper board set up and all that goes into a good football club.

What about then?

Would you support Cambo more?

With the new tv deal coming in to effect. I suspect the value of the Wests Tigers will increase. Wasn’t Melbourne storms owner offered $160m for 80% of the club? Chances of Wests Macarthur stumping up a 1/4 of that would be next to no chance I reckon

The blokes running Campbelltown are businesspeople and very smart operators who love the Tigers.
I wish they would take over and buy HBG out change the name to the Macarthur Tigers.

Sounds good, except the name but….

Has anyone ever discussed it with them? I imagine they have.

What was the outcome?

That would fix a lot of things for me. At least you can elect board members on merit and the club would not be held to ransom.

I still hold the opinion about our home grounds and going chips in on the South West but that is a minor compared to being held to ransom by 20 idiots.

We could still play four games

We would still play four or so games at the eighth.

I do wonder were Cambo Leagues stands with all this?

It’s a long shot but if they were willing and had the capabilities, then maybe fan pressure could have an influence.

Wests Tigers is fine...we don't need to stamp the owners name on everything like HBG are doing.

We need coherent marketing and management - but never gonna happen with that lot in charge.

Mate it's 3 games because Commbank will always have an Easter Monday for the bigger capacity or some other event where we need the bigger venue.

This 4 games or 3 games for me is not about the nostalgia...I'm not about the tokenism of it all. For me it is that we hold a vastly superior record there and vastly higher crowd numbers and we should play where we win most...I'd have zero NRL games at Campbelltown on that basis....everyone is going at me because they want to make it Balmain v Wests...it's just not.

It sounds like you're asking him how we are spending our money. I don't think he's going to give anyone information about that.

HBG's financials are public and have quoted them in multiple threads and looked at their Annual Reports.
Mate I responded to this but some mod is following me around and deleting and correcting my posts. The obsession with my ramblings all of a sudden is stark and very obvious...sorry unrelated to you.

Can't be bothered responding further, but you don't know what you're talking about as usual. The information must be provided and there's legal mechanisms to obtain it if the information is not forthcoming. Do sone research.

Who are the guys running them?
  • Chairperson: Alan Buxton
  • Chief Executive Officer / Secretary: Daniel Perkiss
  • Key Board Members & Committees: Includes long-serving sports administration figures such as Stephen Stewart, Martin Bullock, and Roy Warby who oversee local grants, sports councils, and compliance

Has anyone asked them about running the Wests Tigers and what are the road blocks?

If they said they could do it in the right way, then surely outside pressure and the fact we don't need HBG anymore could see a change.

LOL Anytime you're asked to explain or go in detail, the old "you don't know anything" comes out.

I wasn't even arguing with you. Simply telling you that Shaun or any other CEO is going to divulge information about how they spend their money. Even Broncos who are a publicly listed company will be vague about how much they spend exactly.

So you think they should hand the keys back to the Balmain Rugby League club, forget MacArthur and we start winning again.

Yes he is. That's what you have no idea about. They are required to...

You keep repeating your errors as if I haven't understood what you said the first time.

One more time...HBG, by law, are required to provide detail on their public financials. People can request in writing way more than is provided...most decent organisations just provide more info on request...I can't imagine they would refuse something like that, but you are hell bent on believing something opposite.

That includes, but is not limited to further breakdowns of consolidated amounts like "Football Department Expenses".

When have I ever mentioned Balmain or Balmain Leagues Club in any of my comments?

I am talking about a home ground...not where the club wants to geographically operate scouting, juniors, academies etc.

I'm kinda tired of explaining it, because the club is now the Magpies anyway and we just have a token tiger on the jersey...3 magpies on the Wests Tigers jersey if you can believe it.

It's not the club I started supporting and you must be tickled pink everything is Magpies...happy for you mate. You basically got your club back.
