I dont mind the tax free option

Maybe there should be a rule where they cant sign players under the age of 30, so only those looking for a pay day can head over and it keeps the young talent here. It also means the older heads can teach the younger png players the way.

Anyway, we really need to get our own club in order first.

The good thing is that the tax free element mostly advantages those on the top pay packets. Like the blokes signed already. If youre on an average wage, its not much extra given progressive tax rates here.

So they may have a hard time signing younger talent.

Yeah mate . I think we agree on more than we disagree. Sometimes I have to remind myself I’m on a tigers fan forum with people that must barrack for the club as much as I do and that although we may see some things differently we really want the same thing . Tigers winning GF and becoming a powerhouse. I’m pretty sure if we were at a game next to each other we would get along famously and not bicker unnecessarily like I do online at times . A win would make us all a lot happier I think .. and a few good signings

How many people said they wouldn’t sign anyone at all …no one is going to want to live there in a “compound”…that’s now morphed into they are going to be a retirement village … 😂

They technically still can’t approach anyone yet unless they have been given permission or have clauses in their contract … which are probably going to tend to be older guys ..

I reckon they will win a comp within a couple of years with this tax free concession which will quickly be deemed to be the biggest leg up any team has ever had in the history of this game…and id love to have some money at odds on them right now making the 8 in their first year …

Younger guys will go there because it’s more about how much you are motivated by lots of money rather than how old you are ,.

They are going to be reliant on their Top 17 ......not fussed on Peter's as a coach .....Luai has proven he can't manage a team .....many players families aren't going to cope well living cooped up in a compound for long periods ....last major riots in 2024 killed at least 20 people ....juniors coking through will take years to cope with NRL level football

PNG , my concern is if the supporters get really wound up and the team looses or worse get flogged I just hope the supporters don’t riot , full of Drink and bad news , storm the field , teams will end up not going to play them their

20 dead …is that all? …pretty mild as far as “rioting “ goes …compared to others that have occurred around the Asia Pacific region …. There are plenty of Aussie expats living and working in PNG already …like thousands of people … obviously there is a risk compared with living in Sydney …but I think the NRL team will be pretty well protected over there

They won’t need to rely on juniors initially … something to concern themselves about when their tax concessions are removed/modified earlier than expected given the success the team will have is my prediction on how it plays out

Because no one would play there if there was no tax free incentive. My suggestion is to limit who is eligible to play over there so junior talent isnt lost. I hope it doesnt hurt your brain 😘

I also think both of them are useless. But you dont think albo is also leading Aus off a cliff?
