Maybe look at the physique of an NFL punter or the AFL players that are known to be goal threats from well outside the 50 rather than simply NRL halfbacks

There's every chance it's horrible with no technique. A bloke that spent his junior sports career bouncing between being a rugby league centre and a basketballer has little reason to develop his kicking.
But if you were going to design a body to kick a ball long his ticks every box.
Long legs (levers).
Fast twitch muscles in the legs (power).
Strong and Flexible hips and glutes (follow through)
Core strength (stability on impact).
Solo needs to learn to tackle
He is not the only one that needs to improve their tackling skills, Although the overpaid one is off to the Eels

no Maguire is rubbing the players the wrong way.
An NFL punter never gets tackled and AFL body shapes wouldn’t survive in NRL.
Seeing Bula is playing NRL I was comparing his physique to other NRL Long kickers.
Did you want leg speed through the middle of a quality back up on the edge? They are usually 2 different things. If you want leg speed through the middle at 13 that's not and has never been Chan.
He is a edge backrower who can somewhat do a job defensively in the centres of need be. Problem is, as an edge he fails the quality part.
Whilst we in dire need of more middles. I'm going to go against most and say I'm not sure we need another edge. Anyone we sign would need to be behind Fainu and KPP. We've then also got Roberts whom I think will develop into a better than average first grader. Sukkar who is probably below average but still probably better than Chan. Who knows what Schuster will deliver. Godinet might become serviceable (might not as well).
So you'd be looking at someone ideally as next man up behind our starting two.
Probably someone that you could carry on the bench most weeks and be ok giving them some game time, likely as a middle, because they need to be justified as in or close to first grade every week in order to convince them to come here.
Again this isn't Chan. He's a depth guy that you hope you don't every need.
Not sure of contract status but the kind of players that fit the description.

Don't know much about De Courcy other than him getting hooked early on in the season when we played the Noughts.
I believe he has only played one or two NRL games.
Being from up around that way Demps you must have some positive intel on him from the lower grade games.

In a perfect world we need an impact player who has high leg speed and the versatility to play 13 or on an edge.
I reckon the perfect player would have been young Englishman Morgan Gannon who’s father James Gannon played a few games for Balmain Tigers.
Morgan didn’t quite crack the top 17 at the Warriors, injuries were the main reason, but unfortunately he has now agreed to return to Leeds as of next season.
Not much that fits this description over here, so we might need tj take a risk on someone from the UK competition.

Based on stats he looks very inconsistent, but he’s only 20y.o and is a big body with reasonable speed to go with it.
I think even with the possibility of Patrick Herbert and Solo Saukuru as centre back ups for 2027, I still think we need another decent quality right sided back up who can ideally play centre or wing.

Judging by the expression on Robbo's melon when we saw the odd shot of the coaches box during the game, it would have been entertaining if there was a camera fixed on the coaches box and the ability to watch screen in screen on the idiot box.
It would have been a toss up as to which screen would have provided the most entertainment. 🤣
