Both joint venture clubs were not successful.

26 years later there are precious few that care about them any more..

Different times ......

Don Bradman receives a telegram during play in the Australians' opening tour match at Worcester, April 30th 1938.
Such interruptions were not uncommon.
Lionel Tennyson while captain of Hampshire used telegrams to give his batsmen instructions during games!

(Bradman kicked off his tour with 258. In his four innings at New Road he scored 236, 206, 258 and 107 - in his last innings he gave his wicket away after reaching his hundred. Syd Buller was the keeper.)

While Leonard was busy filming, the makeup crew secretly gave Adam a Spock haircut, eyebrows, and pointed ears before sending him onto the bridge to surprise his dad.
