Delving deep inside Wests Ashfield

No no no no.
You totally missed the incompetence and begging.
The ruthless reaming of the club . . . when it was already bleeding to death . . . by one of it's own famous sons.
The ineptitude.
The ingratitude.
I assume you've forgotten all that ?
Look it up . . . coz you won't get any reality if it goes against Balmain on here bud.
Then do that one, and see if your band of brothers have the same laughs.
Sorry for bringing reality into your lil cartoonies.
Calling out incompetence from over 10 years ago..... But defending hbg...

The irony.

Both have shown they can’t run a footy club

The Factional Cold War over 2005:
The 2005 Premiership remains the ultimate diplomatic battleground at Ashfield. The Balmain faction claims 80% of the credit because of Marshall and Farrah, while the Wests debenture holders maintain it was strictly a Magpie victory because Bryce Gibbs made five tackles in the second half. To maintain peace, the official board minutes list the 2005 title as "An Unfortunate Administrative Glitch in an Otherwise Consistent 30 Year Rebuilding Era."

I never said it wasn’t.
I was responding to a post about old Magpies who seemingly refuse to accept the first fact.
And i was responding to a balmain dinosaur who arced up because someone put the boot in to balmain but didn't say a thing while wests were being hammered

The State Government Government stuck the final sword into Balmain Leagues when they originally forced them into buying land around the club and then booting them out for an underground link that was then never developed.
How would you be feeling if it had been Wests Leagues they wanted instead?

It would have forced the Magpie relocation to Wests Campbelltown and probably the end of the debenture system as that only applies to WA. Interesting thought bubble there. 🙃 What a twist to the plot......

Also if Govt took over the WA site, say for Parramatta Rd extensions, wouldn't it also of had to give compensation to WA further cashing up the relocated entity at Campbelltown? Balmain although surviving as an existing Leagues Club with i presume it's (40%?) stake - which would be good against situation today, would it not cause another form of destabilising with WA (40%?) stake going to Campbelltown with their then stake (20%?)?.

Edit- and the death of Lidcombe oval dreams. Lord knows why WA love it, was there in mid 70s, its long past its time, but was convenient for train and pub in the day. Requirements of professional football have well and truly past simple suburban grounds.

You’re right they would have to give them compensation but remember this was a very long time ago … and they decide how much the reparations would be.
PS I was a regular visitor to Lidcombe in the 70’s and early ‘80’s (a mate of mine played reserves for them) plus I didn’t live too far away.
I can’t imagine what it’s like now 🤣

Agree, but compensation would not have been something to turn your nose at. We're talking 2012'ish? I recall when they were looking at extending M4 motorway in inner west in the
80's- 90's and Queen St Five Dock properties were to be resumed by govt, the home owners were on going to get UIV plus a relatively small amount for the house.

Re Lidcombe, I was there for the 78 match / battle / brawl against Manly. They built them tough those days. No latte sippers then.
