Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This is not about resources though, any strong willed club would have sacked AD for refusing to play to reinforce culture and standards around the place, dosen't matter if you are a flegg player or the best in the first team

It really was a baffling decision by the club. They had 2 choices, keep Doueihi and allow a drop in discipline and standards, send a horrible message through the club and the game in general...or....sack him immediately, draw a line in the sand and don't have to pay a angle cent for him to play elsewhere. Really makes me angry they were with so stupid and weak. Now if it kicks off again we will have to pay for him to go elsewhere and it will be yet another disruption we dont need.

I understand the rhetoric against Doueihi's actions this year but by all reports, including from his own mouth and the agent side, Adam apologised, owned up to his selfish behaviour, fronted his teammates and the media and said it was one of his lowest moments and a wake-up call for himself. I'm sure we've all made a goose of ourselves at times, the difference is he owned it and wants to make it right. What if it was you or your son? I'd hope we could follow the coaching staff and those who know him and extend even a little grace. Or does one bad day mean burn him at the stake? Surely we're better than that, aren't we?

That said, if it happens again, then it's seeya later.
Unfortunately for AD this was the second time his fine it
Time to go

His dopey management pushed too hard..was almost certainly given a more than fair offer, and adequate warning..and chose to ignore it
Biggest offer in Roosters history
Thats why Politis is a billionaire..calls out rubbish, and almost certainly has a back up plan
Sams talented, but not rite for us..too eratic..too expensive
Buzz Rothfield is on MMM saying its wasn’t Sam’s management it was Sam himself that wouldn’t sign what the 3 yr deal his management and Roosters had worked out.

Do you think Conti looked the better player between them the other night? He was more involved because he played 7 and Latu played 6, but no chance he looked the better player
Yeah,I do.Small sample size I know...
But we put everything on Latu and threw away Conti and Large, which never made any sense to me
Theyre all kids..still are..and u never know how their talent will evolve
Feeling very vulnerable committed to Latu and Madden for 27 as our 7s
Need better

Benji was totally compromised...Douhi,easily his best attacking player(regardless of his flaws)wld have been sorely missed if we let him go,and candidly Benji no longer has the pulling power to attract a suitable replacement
So he needed Douhi
And Benji is unable to develop our junior playmakers into better players
So he bought time(for himself) by selling out to ADs unacceptable tantrums
Ive never seen that work in any industry
Dont expect 27 to be much different
Is Potter still available ??Impressive

Conti is my boy so I am biased, but you can't judge him on that performance, Tongans smashed the Lebos no halfback is going to look good.

Actually I believe the NRL covers the base costs of travel to standard away games, but that's not necessarily true if you attempt to take two teams overseas.

Surely you can't just move one of your home games at your discretion and compel the opponent to travel to that new location.

So … The NrL would need to pay for the QLD team to travel to Sydney to play the Tigers … perhaps the difference to go to say Dunedin would be paid by the organisers as part of the deal.,, or perhaps the NRL just pays it ..,

I mean … teams have been taking games to Perth for years right .., who pays those costs ? I assume likely the WA Govt who have paid for the games ..,not a cheap place to travel too from the East Coast

I hated the decision around Douehi but successful clubs have great resources and can attract and replace them, so the Douehi 's of the world don't pull a stunt like he did in the first place.
A West's Tigers coach has little to work with lacks funding and support off the field and survives in the knowledge the players historically are usually backed ahead of coaches.
Last year he dropped Lachy Galvin and the media turned up to watch him play and get a reaction - that doesn't happen at strong willed/successful clubs either.

Benji wasn't compromised at all, he allowed himself to be

What I read was Dunedin was offering any team 1 million to play their games at the Stadium
