Herbert wasn't up to NRL standard 3 years ago, hence why he was released by the Titans and not picked up by any NRL teams.
If we think that a guy who wasnt up to standard 3 years ago and hasn't played since is pushing for a NRL spot, we are in serious serious trouble.
They were all un-signed at the end of the season so would have been available to sign T&T contracts.
Herbert seems a waste to me. Theres the point that we can sign as many T&T players, however I would hope that Herbert isn't prioritised over the development of Max Taotua or Tino Tavana...
When was that, 3 years ago? Think it’s a wasted T&T spot for an injury prone player who was never crash hot and hasn’t played in 3 years.
Would have preferred other guys who were available like Tui’tupou, Jake Tago, Haze Dunster, Smith-Sheilds, Tony Francis and some others from Super League...
Not he is not. Not even close
Herbert hasn’t played in a professional team in years. He never played in the super league. He was retired and playing park football I believe.
Mapalangi was one of our better players in cup last year.
I really hope this is a Ron Massey Cup signing.
I believe it was reported that it was actually 500k a season... Well thats what the DT and Codes Sport reported the figure as, and I highly highly doubt they would under quote a Tigers player salary.
We would have more cap space than most other clubs.
Code Sports published the top 100 paid players in the game (600k and above) not long ago, and we only had 4 which was equal least in the entire NRL. Of those 4 only 1 (Luai) was in the top 50.
Of course some players like Taylan, Api etc...
Easily. We still have plenty of cap space in 2026 (Richo said as much in his BTR interview). Keaon would be for 2027 which we would have even more cap space for.
It’s funny, plenty on here are excited by Ethan Roberts even though he had a poor year this year and went from the verge of NRL to finishing the year in Flegg.
Yet Saukuru made some huge strides last year after moving to second row. One of our best in Flegg after the move and has improved...
Kautoga and Tuilagi are massive defensive liabilities.
Parra are not as far ahead as people think. An easy draw to end the season and big win against a lifeless Newcastle masked over a few of their issues. Their backrowers are poor defensively and don't have much go forward through the middle...
Said it a month a go. Bula will stay, Moses is just trying to get his own pay day, hence all these articles in the media. Moses is using the media to put pressure on the club to give him the deal he wants/more money.
Its also important to note that Bula is on the same timeline as our squad... We have the youngest team in the competition. Jahream is 3-4 years away from his peak. Another year or two with Api, Jahrome and Latu/Doueihi will only help him develop into an elite players. He's absolutely worth...
Big fan of this. I personally believe we need a hooker on the bench to give Api a 20min rest. Playing Api 80mins a game will just come back to bite us and there isn't really anyone in our best 17 that can play 9.
Haywood is not ready and won't be for at least a year or two. Should spend most...
It doesn't make sense for him or Moses to trigger that clause when he can get a longer term deal at similar or more money, and Moses doesnt get paid. It makes no logical sense for Bula to trigger that clause...
