Legend @Jedi_Tiger Half the forum must have collected judging by the way it firmed from 14 to 9.50. Well done.

Thank you both @jai_donaldson and @Bones. Being on the wrong side of 60 can have advantages - like being retired. So, time restraint is one thing I don't have to worry about. But I'll certainly look at some pellet smokers as well once I can get out of lockdown! Cheers!!

Cheers Jai. Based on your cooks I'd say The Ambush might have a new venue!! Can I ask what were the reasons you chose the pellet smoker over charcoal? I've read plenty of on-line comparison articles which may or may not be biased, so I'm keen to get the pros & cons from a real user. Sounds like...

Anyone here interested in smoking? (I'm referring to meats, not grasses :slightly_smiling_face: ) I'm in the beginner category so far; smoking chicken breast & drumsticks on the gas BBQ & getting some unbelievably great results. Secret is in the brining beforehand with the chook. But I'm...

Here's a simple steak rub from Adam Roberts; equal parts cracked black pepper, ground sea salt and brown sugar. https://au.news.yahoo.com/one-mistake-bbq-easy-fix-pitmaster-expert-adam-roberts-213000426.html I reduce the sugar and add in smoked paprika and garlic powder. Check out these for...

    Australia's best pie 2021

Have you tried the West End Pie Shack at Wauchope? Steak & Kidney are brilliant. I had one on the way to the butcher at Timbertown & had to stop for another on my way back!!

Tukimihia Simpkins signs, Kane Bradley released

*“The three of us got on a Zoom chat and **Madge was talking to me about the vision at the club** and how he wanted me to come*. Probably all coaches say pretty much the same about their own clubs, but that kind of comment is good to hear coming from one of our new young recruits that could...

    Homebrew

I've been using the Black Rock Riwaka can and adding various combos of Galaxy / Cascade / Citra hops. But just yesterday I sampled a brew at the Brew Shop Kirrawee that was far superior. It was one of their fresh worts (Amarillo), with 100g of Simcoe hops (added at day four) and a US05 yeast. If...

    Homebrew

Hi Mate, When using a kit, try adding dry hops at day 4, then follow your normal routine & see how you like the result. Once you've tried that you can then experiment (if you weren't happy with the result above) by dry hopping earlier or later during fermentation. It'll also depend on quantity...

    Momorovski wants out

Not sure about the entire grand final but if you're referring to the rorters winning try he actually made the tackle prior and got to his feet alongside the play the ball (and stuck his hands in the air...). Anyway, let's hope he's primed for a big season with his brother and the Jet!

    Nightclubs and Stomping Grounds

Growing up in Five Dock my Friday nights were split between Haberfield Rowers and Balmain Leagues. Anyone remember John Jansen? Played 2nd row for St George in 70's to early 80's. He was a teacher at my old high school (Drummoyne Boys) after I left there in 73. Whenever he turned up at Balmain...

    Luciano's leadership priority

We're just old school. I can't believe the number of posts (not just on this forum) where "than" replaces "then" and vice versa. I assume teaching priorities have shifted over time and we're now entering the era where acronyms will rule.
