They didn’t want Lomax because of his contract and agreed to release him on certain conditions, including Parra providing permission if he is to play for another NRL club. Parra are trying to leverage it for a player swap. So they should, contractually they hold all the cards.

PVL was very quick to say players leaving for R360 would get lifetime bans from the NRL. But if Lomax can increase ratings and revenue I suppose he is allowed back…. It’s another great reminder that it is only us fans who are fools. We are the only ones who genuinely care about our teams...

So do the bulldogs and roosters. For whatever reason, we seem to prioritise slower, smaller, weaker, and/or workmanlike players in our juniors.

I agree this is an often overlooked but extremely important component of us improving this year. If Douhie consistently kicks it 10m longer on average than everyone else (which he does) it is huge in terms of flipping the battle for field position.

I said a long time ago on this forum (before Galvin walked out) that Galvin reminded me of Hastings. Slow runner and too many touches for not enough impact. I was shouted down on the forum. I will be watching the next couple of years of Galvin’s career with interest because if he keeps serving...

Agree, promoting young blokes before their time hasn’t worked for us in past years. Although, the identification and environment hasn’t helped.

If those figures are true, it’s a great deal for us. Needs to tighten up his defence a bit but the raw ingredients are definitely there.

Bunty will take one. I feel with a team that *needs* to make the top 8 this year it would have been beneficial to have at least one other proven first grader taking up one of those spots. Depth has been our problem for years and we got very lucky last year with injuries and suspensions.
