Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Perhaps? But this info was presented in a formal way, with the intention of being constructive. There was also an air of reticence or withdrawal which coincided with the heat being cranked up on the coach.
What incentive would anyone who works for the club, with clout have to post anonymously on a forum, giving away so much sensitive information? I’m pretty there was a time where the club reached out to the mods cos whoever he was went too far with info he gave. Can’t remember the specifics, but it had something to do with Brooks. This was back around 2016.

damn wish i was on the forum back then. what a time that would’ve been lol

Will assume now that any potential depth centre/wing signing now will be below the experience & value of a Brent Naden & Charlie Staines.

Here is an excerpt from an email Naden's manager Allan Gainey has sent clubs (as reported in the DT) ...

Brent Naden (Wests Tigers). The ideal utility player who can competently cover centre, wing, fullback and five eight. A big body with excellent pace and a strong defender. Injury free following an early season setback and would be a worthy acquisition at good value. Likely to be forced out of the Tigers due to salary cap restraints but the Tigers CEO and Coach are more than happy to provide a glowing endorsement.

May mean Krystian Mapapalangi has a very good chance to nail it if he can finish the season strongly at right centre in NSW Cup.

Yeah he had a bit of banter. The meltdowns were quite funny too 🤣.

It's so funny to me. When we had rumours people would hound the guy who had the rumour. When we hear nothing they complain about that too.

I get the feeling humanity is never happy regardless of the situation 😕.
I liked the ones who would drop their info whether it was correct or not....and just leave it at that.

SG was an attention seeking a-hole who would carry on with a huge ego..bag others and loved blowing his own trumpet

Salary Cap restraints is not good to hear, i keep hearing we have war chest, maybe not hey..i just hope we have enough for Taylan May to get a contract

There was a Raiders fan who got a job at concord merchandise....he was a long time poster on LU and when he got the job at WTs he joined this forum.
Didnt have much info to speak of iirc ...occasional training injurys or similar...and he didnt try to hide his online status.
Hrundi99 or something.
Remember him?

Haha job application cover letters in the newspaper

I think it's salary cap restraints per position. Richo will have an idea of how much of the cap he wants to spend on the spine, outside backs, middles etc. So I'd say he doesn't want to spend too much more on outside backs factoring in what we is likely to offer Taylan May.

Don't need backs.
We need depth still (at least 1 more depth in top 30 & a few on T&T)

If Taylan signs as we believe he will, our outside backs are ...

Turuva - To'a - May - Skelton

Depth - Makasini, Luke Laulilii, Doueihi (although likely to be halves/lock), Bird (despite being more pegged as a backrow/lock utility).

So that's pretty skinny!

Tino is no Payne Hass to. As much as he seems like a natural leader and good bloke . Even if he was Payne Hass crossed with Laurie Daley , he’s never on the field for more than half a season . You can’t pay a dude 2 mil to ride the pine 50% of the time .

Probably more in the context of % of cap allocated to his position and where he sits in depth in that position, rather than not being able to afford to keep him

I like Naden, but he shown that consistent week to week NRL is maybe beyond him. As an option to play no more than 5-10 games a year he is good value, but his wage at the Tigers would have to reflect that. If he can get better elsewhere good luck to him

Id be following Staines to France personally

Seen lots of people talking Krystian Mapapalangi up, what is the upside to him surely if he was that good he would have been picked in front of Staines or Naden a few weeks ago.
Is he pulling up trees in KOE or something?

Innk I never forget when he posted a pic of a supposed txt exchange between Sheens and Anasta while Potter was coaching. Went along the lines of Sheens and Anasta celebrating their plan to have Potter let go. They were laughing about it in the exchange. Problem was the image he used was totally amateurish, like it was done in a kindy arts and crafts lesson, he was adamant it was a serious screenshot. Everyone was laughing.

"Salary cap restraints" is just the excuse. Real reason is we don't need him. They're looking for another club, they're not going to openly admit his decision making at times could be a wee bit better.
