Jersey Talk - Mega Thread

I wonder if there was a compromise....boxless sponsor logo with mainly orange and white jumpers...would stand out more than on the black.
Wouldnt surprise if Pepper is bigger too

My annual rant... May as well copy paste it, but here we are.

I know I'm in the vast minority, but I'm sick and tired of minor iterations of the same jerseys year after year; It's boring and the reveals are always so underwhelming.

I know, tradition and all that... but the tigers' colours are as good as any - if not the best in the NRL - to work with, yet the club insists on clinging to superficial symbols of the past (chevrons, magpie on shoulders).

Imo, every year the club's best looking jersey is the indigenous one or if not that, the Anzac one.

There is massive opportunity to sell a lot of jerseys if they would just give it a contemporary look that would be worn in public without screaming "sports jersey".

I'm in my 50's, and I do not get around rocking a tigers jersey....

 Unpopular, but personally I would introduce a completely chevron, magpie and Balmain tiger-free alternative jersey to be worn a couple of times a year to gauge sales and minimise any outcry. Then slowly see less and less of the "old school but it's 2025" type.

Inch by inch, so no one really notices... That's how every evil plan works!

I think the club needs to get with the times and put more focus on stuff that will sell, so that it is actually seen outside of an nrl stadium. Exposure grows brands, which grows clubs.

I'd also be pushing a "WT" monogram (a la the NY Yankees) for general merch more too, as it is more understated and suitable to be worn around by people of any age.

I’m old and I’m down with not changing the jersey which brings me to my question. In that post did you start by saying you don’t want heaps of jersey changes and then finish by saying bring in the changes incrementally?
Anyway, a nice simple black jersey with a few white and orange stripes/ chevrons and stick with it.
I like that sometimes when the family gets together regardless of the generation we all have the same jersey and then the banter starts. How old is yours? How long since you’ve washed it? (I only wash after a loss to wash the bad luck off, so very clean), but uncle BF, and I always come out on top bcoz we have jerseys wore on Sunday the 2nd of October 2005, and mine is a signed one.

PS, that jersey went the entire 2006 season unwashed, there was no way I was washing off the sweet smell of grand final victory.

I like the monogram idea and W & T are very parralel letters could work something very good with them.

I like the old “prison jerseys” black and white vertical stripes, but I think I’m alone on that because every time I’ve said that no one has agreed. 😎

No, I said I'm sick of minor changes to the same design each year, and that a sudden dramatic change to the main jersey would likely upset a lot of people, so suggested introducing the new design in a way that would (hopefully) minimise that.

Went very Jersey geek and did a frame by frame look at the video, this is what I found:

So not a lot in it, but a couple of interesting parts, especially the design part I circled, plus the obvious but subtle (if you don't pick up on the reference) to it absolutely being Canterbury.

Ive heard it before though dont know the name.

Pearl necklace might be like pearl white on cars...though thats sort of metallic dunno how that works on material

The song is Uprising by Muse. Does fit the "We Rise" theme for the membership this year.

Don't think the necklace has anything to do with anything, just what he is wearing.
