Well that's it, I'm officially done. I have just sent my email to the club asking for my membership, and that of my son, to be cancelled. I've put up with a lot over the past 15 years and I've poured money into the club: merchandise, attending games, travelling interstate and internationally.
I was at Leichhardt in the pouring rain when we broke a seven game losing streak against the Cowboys. I was at the SFS screaming at Chris Heighington to fall on the ball. I saw the 15 minutes of madness comeback in Auckland. I was there in the freezing cold at Campbelltown when Benji Marshall kicked a field goal from inside his own half. I was at the 'win and in' game at Leichhardt when we shipped 60 to the Raiders. I saw James Roberts cost us a comeback win over the Cowboys on Tommy Raudonikis appreciation day. I talked my way into the scorebox at Leichhardt for Robbie Farah's 300th presentation. I've seen the Tigers play in every state bar South Australia (ok, at the 9s in Perth) and in Auckland and Wellington.
No more. I'm not giving another cent to prop up halfwits who shouldn't be in charge of a meat raffle. I'll take a Bears membership next year and I'll rejoin the Tigers when governance is in the hands of professionals. Good luck to those of you who stick with them - I hope to see you all again some day. But my sanity has finally triumphed over my loyalty.
