HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Rally was good. I’m glad I went and stood up to these faceless incompetent debenture holders.

Good to have a firm date for when we DEMAND the reforms to be enacted. First trial game at Leichhardt.

Studies of major historical revolutions teach that it’s not a large majority that drives a revolutionary change. Revolutions are successful when a highly motivated and committed group within a population drives change. There were enough at the rally today to drive this change.

A ‘voice of the fans’ organisation has been setup. The sign up is via this QR code.

As you all know peak body’s are common these days. Dr’s have the AMA, pharmacists have the Pharmacy guild. Accountants have CPA and CA. So the list goes on.

Point is, they work and with enough members can become quite influential. I will be signing up.

Isn't it obvious, as soon as Vlandys threatened to take the Tigers and place us under an administrator the backed down. Something Vlandys can't do if there isn't reason and something HBG wouldn't do if they had the right to.
Did that actually happen? PVL threatened to put them under administration?

I reckon 8 or 900 ...hard to say really...it was held on the old Bowls club at the front of pratten on a unused green....a playground next to it higher up with a better vantage point and much more shade had a lot of supporters too
Ppl were trying to stand out of the direct sun as it was pretty intense. So hard to guage numbers...i would agree with your estimate.

It was reported somewhere in the media, I don't have a link,
to bring in an administrator.
But isn't bloody obvious how they flipped so quickly, you can't see it.
I don't know. It's possible.

The current make up of the board, post PVL, also suggests that PVL didn't exactly grind them into the dirt either.

It'll come out in time, I imagine. But it still feels like speculation is being mistaken for facts.

It's widely reported. The NRL wanted the board reinstated. Viola has declined leaving a seat open which was subsequently filled by an HBG rep...

We can speculate on the make-up of the board if he accepted the invitation to return. That for mine is the only point of speculation.

Other than that, there's no doubt the decision to bring them back was insisted upon by the NRL. You have to ask yourself, what option is left for the NRL if HBG didn't agree? The decision to backflip suggests what HBG agreed to is a far better deal than what the NRL alternative was if they had not agreed to bring them back.

Either that or sacking people and bringjng them back 10 days later is totally normal. I don't know...what information are you refuting exactly? It seems like unless you get a full transcript of the discussion that transpired, your default position is that any logical conclusion is "speculation" yet credence is given to explanations that are of no or low probability.

The hill you've chosen to die on is a dangerous one, because you'll need to preface every logical statement you make with "I'm just speculating" if you don't have irrefutable evidence you can produce.

We don't actually know who all the new board members are going to be, don't get a shock if there is NRL representation added, that will clear up if there was some kind of pressure to wake up to themselves.
