Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Really, and who do you believe this is?

Who's idiotic idea was it to extend Benji??
The idiotic decision to extend Benji is quite obviously a culmination of trying tj please the fans in light of the hysteria of the past week.
Do you think it would have happened if there was no outrage from the fans about Richo ?
Further to that do you think Shaun Mielenkamp seems tj be a very good choice as our CEO at a fraction of the cost Richo was being paid ? Maybe we can now have a recruitment manager like every other NRL club.

You're blaming this on the fans man? Geezus mate, that takes the cake. All Independant observers are in unison flabbergasted by HBG removing the board. But it's the fans fault?

The Owners make a dumb decision by entending Benji… it’s still the fans fault ( because of their “hysteria and outrage” - which was caused by whom I wonder ) …😂

Do the Owners ever make a dumb decision of their own accord ? We have been crap for 15 years ..must have been a lot of hysteria over that time !

Demps, know much about Elijah Mataale?
I watched about 3/4 of the Flegg games last season and he was the standout prop for us in most games he played. Across all junior grades, in my opinion, I’d have him as the clubs second best prop prospect behind Tapau-Moors. Mataale has decent aggression and pcm. Apparently played 3 NSW cup games for Canterbury in 2024. I have him similar style to Thomas Mikaele at the same age although Mikaele was probably a little more dominant in that age group. Definitely has the potential to be a future first grader if he develops well.

I think it's more likely to keep the high profile players in our team happy rather than us.

I think Richo leaving and Shaun taking over isn’t a bad thing.

Benji extension and how Shaun got the interim role & we don’t have an independent board is the problem. That’s the issue alot of people have is how and where we ended up.

HBG posted upfront they made the decision because they wanted unity and it was strategic for the wests tigers whilst being fully behind Richo & Benji.

Within 10 days

the decision was reversed but the board setup changed with the board punted welcomed back

Richo gone

We have an interim CEO with no timeline

Benji was extended even himself saying he didn’t deserve it yet

Division within fan base, directors and factions is all over the media

A wests director publicly bagging fans for uniting in their support for wests tigers and telling them to get stuffed in harder words but only focusing on wests magpies.

The board member options by HBG don’t have to have any experience at all in running companies let alone football clubs.

None of the above that HBG caused aligns to anything to their initial statement.

It’s clear to everyone they don’t want independence and want to be the primary decision maker.

That isn’t setting the club up with unity or strategy, but does set HBG up.

Every crap thing that has happened in the last two weeks is at the hand of the people who we entrust to oversee the running of the club.
The singly most disgraceful thing is that they are the ones who enflame the division.
They knew that the sacking of the board would send the fans nuts.
All the old allegiances emerge for the ones who have no platform when things are going well - but as soon as there is drama the threats of control and finger pointing is in full attack mode.
It's a pathetic way for a small group of entitled's to enforce their control when the fans who have stuck no matter where they originated from continue to support a club that consistently fails them and just feels like hard work.
Talking about shitting in your own nest.
