Today's weather (Saturday, January 10, 2026) along Australia's east coast is sharply divided, featuring
extreme heat and high fire danger in the south (New South Wales and Victoria) and heavy rain with potential flooding and a tropical low in the north (Queensland).

Keep safe everyone.

Sat 10/1 - 330pm
- 2 fires in the Sydney basin, both under control;
- severe weather (damaging winds) for coastal Sydney, extreme fire danger and extreme heat warnings current;
- all places in Sydney have hit 40+ with peak temps yet to come;
- our special rainbow infrared satpic shows the change creeping towards Ulladulla, still only moving around 30km/h (you can see the pinks change to dark blue; I.e. hot to cold south of Ulladulla)
- ETA of the southerly buster is still 730-8pm for Southern Sydney and Inland, pushing west and north by 10pm into the Cenny Coast
- no rain expected BUT if you’re near the coast it may have a big fat roll cloud so keep an eye out

We went to the dam, on the kayaks. It was lovely on the water, but so hot when we stopped
