Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Agreed, on all fronts. We will just have to wait and see to determine what Benji's plans are for him. His talent would be wasted at 13 and as a back up for Api as has been suggested on several occasions. Benji is already on record saying that he is too talented for reggies so where does he fit? For me the natural solution is to have AD playing as a hybrid 13/7 with Latu and Luai playing a link role on either side of the ruck and combining where practicable. I know this isn't conventional thinking but it makes the most of the talent we have. Unless AD gets some reps in at 13 we will behind the 8 ball if this, or some similar type of approach, is the longer term plan. As I mentioned earlier if this is where we are headed AD should be trainign at 13 now with Jock next man up behind the injured Latu.
Yep, that's what I was getting at Jolls and it may not be that massive a change, 7 to 13. He may be training at what appears to be 7 and not at 13, but a hybrid position as you mention might not be entirely different. Latu is too good not to start.

Apparently Geyer’s been training at 13. My guess would be Doueihi 7 until Latu eventually unseats him. When that happens is up to Latu’s development but hopefully the battle makes them both play better. One decision Benji needs to get right

That happened at the start of december - he could have made a decision around the november cutoff but chose not to - using the board debacle is a cop out.

Yea! Cop out!! Sick of all these people blaming all our problems on talented players leaving our club. What kind of excuse is that??? Totally weak as! If we had a predominately black jersey with a white V we wouldn't be in this mess. Thank god we got rid of that guy who had never had success as a CEO and we've resumed normal service with our proven ideas that are our heritage. Players should be expected to trust and dedicate the best years of their careers into something we will undermine every 18 months, that should always remain our key negotiating principle, no matter what month it is. Total cop out to suggest anything else.

Maybe as a stop gap but he is too talented to be a 14 in the long term.
True, but players such as Cooper Cronk have spent a couple of years as a utility before establishing themselves in a starting position.
Including Jock Madden we have 4 players all capable of being good standard NRL halves, very healthy competition.

I always jest. You have to enjoy a joke if you're a real Wests Tigers fan. First of all, I played junior rugby league in Campbelltown and grew up a Campbelltown Magpie in the 90s. Tommy Raudonakis lived next door to my dad's best mate at the time in Ruse. Most kids who followed the Magpies in Campbelltown became Wests Tigers fans because why the hell wouldn't you??

Look, I've got nothing against people who want to win, and who want to do everything they can for the club and the fans. Winning is something everyone can agree on. My beef is that what HBG get up to, has nothing to do with wanting to win footy games.

I actually WISH, that HBG was a ruthless winning machine. I'd SUPPORT that. Everyone here would. Man i bloody wished they knew what they were doing. That would actually save us all a lot of time and bring a lot of joy into a lot of peoples lives. Wests Magpies has gone bust basically twice and the JV saved the legacy of that footy club. I was at those last Magpies games. Used to watch them running up the hill when we'd eat at Chillis on Blaxland road. That's mostly how they trained. They didn't have a gym or warm showers. It was a footy club without a pulse. They got hit in the arse by a rainbow with Balmain going bust, and instead of being gracious and just getting on with reality... we've got to put up with this.

Like why 'bail out' Balmain, only to then play all this bitchy political stuff afterwards? Wouldn't the saavy thing be to just let the other mob go bust and then your problems are over? Why bail out something only to undermine it non stop afterwards. It's like they're the footy equivalent of Theon Greyjoy. HBG can't even codify what it is they actually want to achieve, or define would be satisfactory for them culturally and then come to some kind of accord for the greater good. It's part of their culture to always act wounded and aggrieved, only as a pretext to do dumb things that don't even work.

Its more idiotic than nefarious. They can only operate sneakily and through chicanery even though they own 90% of the JV. Losers. They can't even stage a coup without it blowing up in their faces. If you're gonna sabotage the club, can you at least do it successfully?

Relegation is our only hope obiwan

We need Bulla to pull his finger out and make a decision , sign on or just tell us he is moving on , this way Wests Tigers can also start working out the fullback situation now , if it’s with in then that player needs all the help during 2026 to ready himself for the step up , play reserve grade and pressure Bulla , if Bulla is off swap him out , Bulla could move on and have a great season still but he is young and pressure could come in to play and he fails , couple bad games in a row could derail him and our team for 2026

We need bula to make a decision either way. Then don’t panic and make him play out his contract. Something will come up if a rookie isn’t reguarded. No more early release without better in return
Yep! 30days to make a decision or its off the table. Nip it in the bud before the season starts. I would still use Bula at fullback for this season as he is our best option.
