He is very consistent in his work rate strong defensively. He seems a bit on the slow side, there doesn’t appear to be any real speed of the mark. But with his height he has shown his offloading ability to be one of his great strengths. That’s where bunji comes into it, he has to know this and get players to run off him. Training for this all the time and running plays using this ability.
Has Bunji done this, that is the question???

When was the last time a reasonable name playing externally was linked to us ? Not a Mavrik Geyer or Bunty type ….Assuming we are broke for 2026 only … they have had months now to chase after guys for 2027 ….

But we hear nothing … whilst the Dragons get linked to everyone…. It’s a bit boring for us … even if the Dragons miss out on most … they still get to wish and hope for a bit ..

There’s no one really of quality that’s come on the market
Most of our players are about to come off contract - Taylan & Terrell, Samuela & Latu, Turuva, Pole - more than likely our funds will be going to making sure we can re-sign them instead of external recruits
Our glaring weakness last year was our thin depth, which is why they’ve gone after the Bunty’s Jock’s and Herbert’s of the world

There are plenty of off contract players at the end of this 2026 season that remain on the market …available to be signed now . Although Perth need to fill a team in the meantime and are no doubt driving up the prices …

I’m not expecting miracles ….but one big name and maybe another couple of solid first grade level signings could make a big difference for 27 …

All our guys you mention are all off contract at the END of 2027 … surely we can sign some external guys in the meantime for next season?

We need to get better to win the premiership…that’s the goal right ?

It’s still early , so it might happen….lets hope…

It’s boring though is my main point that we never seem to be linked to anyone …. It’s been about 7 or 8 months since KPP…I’ll even throw Taylan in there who signed around August from memory …. Since then a couple of depth pieces that won’t move the needle much …

Next couple of years will be boring because of what is happening with the new teams.

As I mentioned … 1 big name ( were we in on Kolamatangi I wonder) and say 2 solid first graders ( think KPP) …. One or two steps up,from depth guys like Bunty and Herbert

IMHO, if instead of Seyfarth, Sukkar, we have just one from the following group: JWH, Josh Papalii, AFB, P Haas, NAS or Junior Paulo, I would be happy.

He'd be good. Wouldn't cost much. Not out of the realms of possibility.

I think we need to put some runs on the board this year though, otherwise it will be labelled as another false dawn.

Yeah ..,I think they can make the 8 or at least be in the running to the end ( surely we are due for 9th again ?) …

First time I’ve thought that heading into the season for about a decade or so …
