Seibold sacked as coach of Manly

I think they had to sack him if they want Willie Peters or someone else would get him

And I believe Willie coach lower grades at Manly but if I needed a caretaker for this year I would ask Kevin Walters or see what Brad Arthur would be willing to do with his England job

It could get worse for Manly they mite go after O'Brien and there was a Jason Taylor rumour going around last year
Honestly- Taylor might be the best option of that group.

Hiring Peters now that he is confirmed as PNG coach is suicide. He can get his eyes over every Sea Eagles junior he might want in PNG & convince them to follow. Same with Arthur.

You have to go with someone unaligned for the future.

Chase Gardiner. Or Dean Young.

I don't think their roster is that bad.
They can score from anywhere when TT is on. I expect Foran will bring some new energy that has been lost under Siebold.
Not prepared to write them off to early for that

The Penn family became majority owners of Manly at the end of 2014. Since the start of the 2015 season Manly have only played finals football only 4 times in 2017,2019,2021 and 2024. Under the Penn Ownership they are experiencing their longest premiership drought since 1947-1971 and longest grand final drought in their 79 year history.

This is the history of coaches under Penn Ownership

Geoff Toovey - sacked
Trent Barrett- bitter exit
Des Hasler - sacked
Anthony Seibold - sacked

Under their ownership they have had 8 CEO’s on their watch as Majority Owners.

I reckon we’d take that finals record

Sea Eagles version of the Benji hire. Young, recently retired player that spent the last few seasons essentially as an on-field coach.

I don't mind Foran. I don't like that roster at all.

They'll come last.

Good coaches are running low on the ground. Not sure what they had to choose from. Toovey should be a part of that club though.
I think teams are taking chances . If you’re an older coach , they’re not looking to recycle you through like Arthur .
My guess is the consensus is the generational gap between a 55-60 year to an 18 year old is exponential. I mean it was always big , but growing up in a digital age makes the divide 10 fold .
Most of the recent hires have been guys around early 40s , late 30s. We Are witnessing the new age of coaches .
If they avoid the spoon I can see him retaining the job. The bar is very low with that team . They’re fielding players who weren’t good enough for the tigers spoon teams 22-24. That’s not a good sign.
