Melbourne Storm can confirm that forward Tui Kamikamica is currently in hospital following a medical episode on Monday morning.

He has undergone treatment for a suspected stroke and is recovering in hospital.

Tui is receiving the best possible care and is being supported by hospital specialists, alongside the Club’s medical staff.

Sad to hear for anyone, but one so young and fit it is a shock. Wishing him a fast and full recovery.

I know someone in their 30s who had a stroke not that long ago, very healthy individual, it can happen any time.

You would think this would write him off for the rest of the season.

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Please I hope it's not a stroke once you have had one the chance's are very high you will have another inside of two years

If it's a stroke he shouldn't play again

Heard a specialist talking about it on the radio and if it is actually a stroke that he has had the problem is something like a heart valve (at least I think that was what he said) that can be operated on via the groin.

He was also saying that younger people under the age of 40 make up 10% - 15% of stroke victims, so it is not as uncommon as most people may think.

The specialist said that there was nothing stopping him resuming playing footy in around 3 months.

Incredibly unlucky, obviously poor health choices throughout your life is usually the culprit but anyone can be a statistic. I had a friend that had a stroke at 17. Still alive today but had to learn to speak again and has walked with a cane ever since. Terrible burden at such a young age.

I feel so sad … terrible for such a fit young man.
Having been through both a stroke and throat cancer ( both being totally unfit) I’m really wishing he finds the strength to get through it,
Good luck and be positive.
