Koroisau Suspended

Have loved Api this season but this is disappointing from a leadership perspective. He's already been pinged for this a few times this season & has now gotten himself suspended for 3 games. Disappointing.
Maybe he is still playing like we are wooden spooners, desperation plays. Time to trust this system is working, and this group.

I agree that its a risk to challenge this but Api has been the difference for us this year. Without him were could be in trouble. Just look at the stats when he's been off the field (sin bin or rested). What he does in the middle cant be overstated.

I also secretly dont want him to be picked for the blues despite being the obvious choice. Or any of our players for that. But many of them deserve it.

Sounds fair. One week for the tackle; one week loading for jersey colour; an extra week loading for not being named Cleary; and a bonus week for having the audacity to challenge the NRL.

Anyone notice how often a team that is successful in a Captain's Challenge gets penalised in the next set?

Yep 100% will be this, you can't have a next man up mentality and then throw it out the window because Hope is hopeless. He's not Api he never will be we will just have to hope he's atleast serviceable to a degree.
Hope showed some usefull form in the trials, just don't want to see him try to score close to the line from dummy half, he's not good enough at it and wastes a tackle.

He doesn't have the deceptive skill of Api.

The challenge is that the only other option for api when getting in that position on a cover tackle is to drop off. No competitor is going to do that.

As benji said, what is his option? What does the NRL want him to do?

Prior offences of same charge in past 18 months
  • Api Koroisau (Round 5, Dangerous Contact – $3000 fine)
  • Api Koroisau (Round 2, Dangerous Contact – $1000 fine)
Soft copping 3 weeks considering Kenny got 1 game and iongi out for 2 months when it’s his second hip drop in 12 months (which is odd considering his last hip drop caused Nat butcher to have a MCL injury). If anyone knows anyone in the club maybe this could be helpful to fight the charge or at least downgrade it a bit cause I think it’s BS

Lets hope they argue the downgrade. There would be a bunch of these tackles that go unnoticed weekly. They just need to queue those up.

Api is our biggest possible out for our team. He holds up so much defence around marker creating space out wide.

But it presents an opportunit for others and gives Api a little rest, which isn't the worst thing.
Yep the guy is in everything we do, a huge loss, but as you said it gives someone else the opportunity to stand up and I think with the attitude change in the team this year, someone will stand up and we will be ok. Also will be a good rest for Api to come back fitter and fresher for the finals! 😁 That’s when we’ll really need him.

I doubt he’ll get off, I think we have to take our medicine. On the bright side he’s been playing every minute and a break will help him avoid burning out at the latter rounds.

Big shoes to fill. I think I’d rather Latu or Madden there than Hope. Haywood could do the job in attack but I don’t think his defence is there yet.

Well we seen another very dangerous tackle in the dogs broncos game , Burton slammed stags head into the turf , it was extremely dangerous tackle, but no sin bin , put on report, but I bet me don’t here a word about it
If the game is on the line the player would be coached to stay down and earn the sin bin.

Sucks we’ve come to this. As usual, it’s referees trying to justify a shit decision against us (the Lualilli tackle) that’s caused a new problem in the game.

I missed the game. Was Staggs hurt? There seems to be a strong correlation between injury and severity of punishment.
