OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

When he was playing origin, for us it was the best form of his career mate, but later he started taking the D head pills.
Weird thing on Woods,
I think he needed the Tigers more than they needed him.
As you've said, He played his best Footy with us - Where he was basically a 1 man forward pack.
The only Prop we had worth mentioning for most of that time, and our Back Rowers were absolute Dogshit. He had to do it all (no doubt that weighed on him at some point)

As soon as he went to another club, Where he wasn't the be all and end all - His game fell to bits.
I don't know weather he wasn't as important, so he clocked off (Which can happen in any work environment) Or he got a bit lost when he wasn't forced to carry a whole team on his back.

He's talked about it here and there, But not overly analytical on what leaving did to him and his game...
Often wonder if he's ever thought of it.

It's probably why he turned on the club, was sick of asking for at least 1 more enforcer to help back him up in games, not having to do it all himself.

He was a shag on a rock for years and the club did nothing.

He doesn’t strike me as the deepest thinker.

Was a footballer (not a doctor)

He’s a bit older now, had plenty of time to weigh it up.
Be hard not to think his form and rep jerseys don’t dissipate if he stayed though? Crazy to think he went from being the backbone to a squadie

or
more pork pies than the current Australian Prime Minister
A junkie looking for their next hit controls their money better than this mob. The budget was atrocious. I am in the midst of setting up a business (with a 10 year vision to sell) and now i will pay double the tax on it. Meanwhile they are handing out money to people who are coming in from overseas and have paid no taxes in their life. Its so backwards and infuriating. They live in utopian fantasy land.

He regressed ridiculously. Not many players who represent Australia retire as reserve graders. Karma hit him square in the balls.

Karma? How so…
I can’t blame any of them boys for what happened.

Up until 18 months ago - we’re all ready to jump with them!!
(Almost a decade later)

You can’t begrudge a young bloke for deciding to not waste the best part of his career here… it’s been rough

I think part of it is, with us, he had more freedom to play to his strengths. Had a decent short pass, decent offload, was given the latitude to stand in tackles, and use some late footwork.

His biggest strength was he could play longer minutes with us. He did this out of necessity because we had zero depth and no one to replace him with but he could have good output all game.

Other teams like the dogs wanted him to come off the back fence or try and get the quick play the ball. It was really his go and it laid bare his deficiencies which were kind of papered over at the Tigers.

I remember one game against Souths many years ago now when Woods single handedly took on the Burgess brothers and annoyed the shit out of them so much they couldn’t focus on playing the game and we ended giving Souths a pasting lol.

I thought he was gonna be an awesome player after that game, but he never really became an enforcer again in any of our other matches like he did that night.

Maybe understand the legislation, that's a dog shit news corp interpretation.

More to the point no one's been affected by anything yet.

No legislation has been passed by the house or the senate

All the sky is falling in henny Penny's need to get a grip !!!

I think it's because here was good for his numbers. A bit like Jason Ryles at the dragons always had great numbers but if you watched the game he was never a stand out. Until the stats are shown they are never noticed by most at there is never massive runs or big tackles it's more get through the work but nothing memorable.
People ran at woods and Fulton not Ellis or fafita because Ellis/fafita could sit you on your arse not Fulton or woods.

That wâs the saddest win of my life.

I was waiting in the living room with my tigers jersey on when someone cancelled the plans last minute.

I blame Mitch for sure because he tanked games until he could be let go 6 months early but Teddy I have no ill feelings over. I was upset at first with Woods but I feel like he was given a leadership position way before he was ready. That Fox interview was stupid but wasn't as bad as Mitch.

Your memory is a little jaded - but I’m not going to tell you how to feel.

Mitch had a game in that few weeks period where he was almost (if not) best on park - then he had a shocker, no one remembers the cracking game…

He was also a 22 year old kid who’d just been told he wasn’t required at his junior club.

But wasn't the reason for that was him and others stuffing the club around not giving an answer if they were staying or not.

At the time I thought it was because of Taylor's coaching but then Ivan was appointed, then he put deadlines on because he needed to know what they were doing so he could put his roster together.

He eventually always ended up putting it in reverse and backing into the defence...looking for an offload but he was always easily contained...slowed our ruck down immensely
He needed a trucks 'beepbeepbeep in reverse' sound effect for his hit ups
