Alex Twal #206

Was woeful today - soft as butter in attack and defence, didnt even look like he was trying - looked like he had given up

How will Benji's relationship be with Twal after this saga with AD?

This is in today's DT:

PLAYER FRACTURES

Doueihi, his management, Marshall, CEO Shaun Mielekamp and other club bosses are meeting on Monday to hash out their differences.

Whether the players can get on the same page after this latest saga is an entirely different story.

It’s believed Doueihi has the backing of a number of teammates.

Eagle-eyed Tigers fans were quick to notice veteran forward Alex Twal, along with Starford To’a and Heath Mason, did not pose in a team photo to celebrate teen star Javon Andrews, who played in the halves alongside Jarome Luai on Saturday. The photo was an impromptu decision by players to mark Andrews’ NRL debut.

Heath Mason and Starford To’a had to take off for the sheds because they played reserve grade straight after the NRL match. Twal is the only one they haven’t got a reason for. I’ll let readers work out why.

The Tigers take a photo post-game for Javon Andrews’ debut.

Twal was on the bench at full-time, where he was spotted sharing a moment with Raiders coach Ricky Stuart.

Chat of discontent in the playing ranks leaves Marshall with the biggest challenge of his coaching career - to ensure any fractures in the playing group don’t fester to destabilise his tenure at the club and his plans for the future.

Marshall admitted all the outside noise is taking a huge toll on the group, but also on him personally.

One thing is certain at least, that noise is only going to get louder this week with the Tigers set to be dragged into the headlines yet again.

What do you expect from the Murdoch media? They are the world champions of lies and misinformation.
That’s what people would have said a week ago about Doueihi if a similar article was written. Things seem unbelievable, but nothing should surprise you with this club.

How disappointing is it to see Twal play so poorly now with such little effort. I have really lost respect for him. Im one who has defended him for years against criticism on this forum, and he finally repaid that with his form this year. Now he has thrown his toys out the cot, spat the dummy and proved himself to be a weak and pathetic as the rest of them
