Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of promising young forward Alex Twal for the next three seasons.

The new deal will see the powerhouse 20-year-old join Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2020 season.

A junior representative standout, Twal has already featured for the Junior Kangaroos and NSW U/20s in his career, and was named in the 2016 Holden Cup Team of the Year after a superb season with Parramatta.

The Parramatta City Titans junior has spent the last two seasons as part of the Eels’ extended first-grade squad, with his strength and strong work rate adding further depth to Wests Tigers forward pack next season.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary said he looked forward to working with Twal in 2018 and unlocking the full potential of his game.

“Alex has experienced great success as a junior and is a player of true potential,” said Cleary. “We look forward to Alex being a strong part of the future here at Wests Tigers."

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said the signing was positive for the club.

“Alex is a talented young man and we look forward to welcoming him to the club,” said Pascoe. “He joins at a time when he can make an impact on the club and take his game to the next level.”

Twal will join Wests Tigers for the start of pre-season training in late 2017.

Could be very good by end of next year and into '19 and 2020\. He will be able to put a lot of bulk onto that frame and he obviously has talent.

This is a really underrated signing, low risk high reward. I presume he won't take much of the cap up as he is yet to make his debut. Solid young prop who was in the NYC team of the year and made all the rep sides coming through the grades at Parra. Should provide good depth, with the potential to be a consistent performer in the NRL.

Neat, the spending spree continues. We'll have very different looking sides by next year.

Im guessing he caught the eye of Ivan when he was playing junior kangaroos with Nathan Cleary. Played in along side JJ Felise in the same junior kangaroos team. If Ivan liked him when he was watching his boy play junior kangaroos, I have faith that he'll be a good signing for us.

Never heard of him. Never had heard of Suli either though.

Makes sense now with Ava going.

At least it seems like a like-for-like replacement.

Sounds like we'll see him in the 17 next year come round 1.

Suli was an absolute whirlwind in hindsight.

Signed late January 2017 - _**that's really only 13 weeks ago**_ barely finished a game of under 20s

Walked into the first grade squad.

Rolls out in the 17.

Arguably been one of our better players in First Grade this year.

Certainly puts the pressure onto Felice and Tatola to stand up.

They haven't really set the world on fire yet and still have to show that they have it in the top grade.

This young guy certainly has an impressive CV.

Another good signing. Mixing youth with experience. I will be even more excited when milne, packer and lolohea are confirmed.

Haven't seen him play so cant comment on that but seems like we're rebuilding the lower grades, which needed to be done too.

For those who haven't seen him play or those who are mehhhh'ing this signing… This kid is no joke.

Followed his career closely for a few years and he's one of the best up and coming props in the game.

Think Matt Lodge but much more athletic and gifted.

Another Lebanese player in the team is only gonna be good for us too.
