When Great Britain captain Garry Schofield moved to Sydney, he joined the Balmain Tigers for the 1985, 1986 and 1987 NSWRL seasons.
He quickly became one of the competition's standout players, earning the rare distinction for a British footballer of finishing as the NSWRL's joint leading try-scorer in 1986, crossing for 13 tries to share the honour with Manly-Warringah's Phil Blake.
Schofield also played a key role in Balmain's success in the 1985 National Panasonic Cup, helping the Tigers claim the prestigious midweek trophy.

I remember meeting ex Eel, Magpie and Rooster, Tony Cosatto down at the local shopping centre when I was a kid on a Thursday night.
We'd just moved to Australia at the time and the Magpies had a table set up promoting the upcoming game.
He gave me some free tickets, a team poster, went around and got all the other guys to sign it and wrote me a special message on it. Also spent ages talking to me about soccer.
That poster hung on the wall in my bedroom for a good five years.

And champion @Papacito, there's this little story which happened while Tony was playing with Parramatta (before he came over to Wests Magpies).
He was flattened by a shoulder charge, knocked out - and the whole recovery episode took 8 long minutes, live as it was on ABC TV, without commercials, and especially remembered by Wests fans of the day because their 2nd rower, Cameron Blair, was first to help Tony.
Cosatto recovered then later signed on as a Magpie.
